that's crazy, I know exactly what this is talking about.  Ever since I read the Tao Teh Ching, I started living exactly like they talked about in this.  I don't know about the thought and then everything in the universe acts with it but who am I to argue with it.  As far as life coming at you one step at a time and basically living for the moment and letting "the universe" take its course, I've had an amazing time since "letting go" and going with the flow.

In Taoism, the universe has its direction and if you aren't yourself/fake then the universe will act back upon you with undesirable consequences.  Taoism in a nutshell, go with the universe and don't fight yourself from being yourself.

  thanks for the post.

I was just reading about this and came here to post about it  :smile2:

Shaking Riches Out of the Cosmos

I think the film, the book and the followers all have just about as much credibility as any 12-step program/program-member.  Oprah?  Give me a fucking break.. But I don't think it's an entirely useless or vain practice.

It's easily compared to that existential leap that you hear so many authors and philosophers speak of - letting yourself go and letting yourself just be and the cosmos will take care of you and make your dreams come true.  Try and mold and form yourself rigidly and you will never like what you are and never achieve what you want to be.

Here's a list of historical figures the film claims have followed this or a similar path:
Aristotle, W. Clement Stone, Plato, Isaac Newton, Martin Luther King, Carl Jung, Victor Hugo, Henry Ford, Ralph Waldo Emerson, Thomas Edison, Albert Einstein, Robert Collier, Winston Churchill, Andrew Carnegie, Joseph Campbell, Alexander Graham Bell, Ludvig Van Beethoven, Charles Fillmore, Wallace D. Wattles, Thomas Troward, and Charles F. Haanel

A lot of things are out of our control, but perhaps when we relinquish control of ourselves we are freed from the schisms of the self and in turn life may become a far more beautiful thing.

not necessarily a bad thing, unless you really enjoy living a lie which would be a lie to begin with..

I don't think wishful thinking is going to get you anywhere, although putting your psyche in the right frame of mind does help your luck.
