I downloaded this yesterday not even knowing it was about Scientology. It's about clearing you mind and reaching peace. I haven't had a chance to read it yet.

I read dianetics and throughout the book it tells exactly what everyone else is
saying in this thread, it also covers things like brainwashing.

I'd never heard of scientology until I read the book, that's where I learned about
the thetans and how they affect my life and behavior

how can you win a debate you run away from. How about going back and reading it. I even bumped the thread 2 times so that you wouldn't have to dig for it. Even now you are trying to run away from it and declare victory.
Maybe once you start adding fact to your rhetoric then I would have something to debate, otherwise I am left pointing out how ignorant you are on this subject.

I can honestly say that after reading throught wiki article for the second time I am more confused to begin with.

I have no interest in becoming scientology or flaming scientologist or anything. But honestly, and I am not a dumb shit, every time someone speaks of scientology I just get utterly lost.

I would not have made the thread if I didn't do searches. I just thought by posting it I might get some clarity.

I read the book, I enjoyed the book even though it was a slow read, I even filled
out the little survey card and received a letter in the mail stating to me that I
should come in for an audit

Do scientologists NOT believe that their bodies are inhabited by alien ghosts brought to Earth in spaceships that looked like DC-8s?

Is it NOT the organization's policy to sue any high-profile person who is critical of them?

it's been 20 years since i read the book, I was most impressed at how detailed the
brainwashing portion of the book was, low protein meals, sleep deprivation and the like

now it is blatantly obvious you didnt read the book, or atleast read it and understand it. Seriously, where are you getting this? those two things are the exact opposite of what scientology urges: plenty of sleep and high- protein meals.
