Best way to dry shrooms

What is a good and cheap way to dry shrooms.

Best way....A dehydrator,the air is not humid where I am so I can get by using nothing but a fan but if you live in a high humidity area you will not only need a dehydrator but you may also need desiccant to keep them cracker dry,I only use desiccant for long term storage after fan drying for a few days

The way I do it that works perfectly for me, is to tear the Mushrooms into quarters or eights lengthways and then just lay it out on newspaper or whatever and if I want it to be really fast, put a fan heater on them. That dries 'em out in no time, cos I can't be bothered with a dehydrator.

hey lithium, pop those caps in a shoe box for a few days. cheap and it will get the job done.

Do you notice any decrease in potency with long-term storage in disiccant? Just searching through the archives that was one thing I saw mentioned a few times because of the availability of oxygen, so after drying with a dehydrator my plan was to encapsulate.

keep infront of a fan on high for two days straight
then put in a ziplock with a little desiccant for storage
in a few more days they get cracker dry at the same time you are storing them already

All I do is i made a little drying rack with a metal screen pop em on there wait a few days and they're dry. With drying you just have to be patient like with the whole procedure of making em. You dont want to use any heat methods cuz then the potency will decrease in them.

I wonder why one would save mushrooms that long, but I would assume that potency probably decreases at a consistent rate, and it probably decays exponentially in the same way a half life of whatever Carbon isotope they use for Carbon Dating.

Anyway, freezing them might slow the decay of the psychoactive compounds, but in the long run, they'll hit that point where potency will decrease so slowly that whether or not they were at room temperature vs in a freezer wouldn't save any significant amount of psychoactive compounds.

Oh, same goes with the vaccum seal idea. I don't think it would make a significant difference.

Actually it does help to store them in the fridge. You can store them for years with very little loss of potency
