FOOD DEHYDRATOR for drying shrooms???

I was in line at Walmart while the kid ahead of me bought a food dehydrator. Hmmmmmm I thought.... I wonder if you can use them to dry shrooms out. Has anyone ever used one of these and will it make the shrooms loose any potency?

Yes you can just disconnect the heating eliment<----sp? and it works good I use a 6 tray system.

The inexpensive dehydrators don't have fans in them. eg Walmart cheapies. If your handy, you can install a light dimmer switch in the base so the heating elements don't get hot enough to cause potency loss. Run it at 1/4 to 1/2 max.
But keep in mind... a fan box will work just as well and as fast.
