My Nooby cultivation story

GUYS!
Okay.. so were eating, and we run out of Parmesan cheese.
the plastic container with the opening lid to distribute cheese..
on a whim or pure nooby boredom..
i live in Florida.. no cubies yet and i wanted to see what i could do ide never tryed to grow shrooms.
NO B>S... i took 2 or 3 old patties home with me..
somewhere on the shroomery Ive Read.. that the older pattys get a whiter color and that is mycelium, or another type of fungi.
well in order to cut down on contams if i gid get the real deal..
i ended up splitting em up into samples into different containers.
the first was a 2 pint plastic Tupperware..
the humidity stayed atlas 95%.. and i grew a tub of cobweb mold..
now.. in the Parmesan cheese/homemade fruit chamber..
i have 2 pieces of cow poo roughly the size of a bottle top..
side by side they are covered in snow white mold. showing white,, crystal veins kind of, i dont want to try to bruise them.
humidity is at 95% and theres a bullet a baby shroom on the bottom
( i was shocked by the one on the bottom )
but.. they look SOOOO much like cubies.. but its just toooo soon to tell. i visited the field often last year and retrieved shrooms on a very reg basis.
i had a 1 in a million shot to get ahold of that ectofunktal fungi during winter.. and i might have...

Should i pasteurise some straw/hay mix.. and try o get a jar colonised?

i mean its 1 in a million but dude this aint cob mold.. and theres bullets/knots forming

Oh yeah! I hope your stay in the hospital wont be too long after you eat whatever it is that you are growing. Even if, IF, you did get a patty with cube spores, you are asking for it by eating something like that. Most likely contaminated?!?!?!?!?

But seriously though, I hope it does work! That would be so totally f'n rad! I am just scared for you.

Well, FIrst you have no clue.
i dont go around eating every fungus i see.
im growing it for the simple reason of this..
if i can do it with a type of mushroom other than a cubie then i can do it with a cubie..
sheerly experimental, and has nothing to do with a long term or commercail harvest or anything..
its just a bored stoner investigating what he can do.
also, let me tell you that it isnt rocket science to pasteurise a hay/poo mix and inoculate it,, as i said its winter i have no spores.
so i got 2 months to screw around and get my technique right

what im saying is this..
contam aside... the odds are 1./1000 that i get an active type.
theyre definitaly cubes but are the darkest ive seen
probrally wont get too big due to the fact the poo is fully colonised and very small.. i have some moisture control soil im going to attempt to case it to hold humidity.

OH yeah,
and.. even if the pattie has contam..
if a shroom were to grow onto it, and i pick it as the viel ripps..
ill have plenty of spores, witch undoubtedly wouldnt be contaminated,
if they were it would be easy to spot.
let me re use this phrase that a wise man once taught me.
ALL mushroomes ARE EDIBLE
but some youlle eat only ONCE

i was high as a mugg earlier lol smoked some hash oil and weed nugs.
used a 30 to make hash oul, added that on a 10 bag and smoked it.
that hash oil is sweet

also,... think that fd up..
i am currently growing a weed plant upside down by blocking all light out exept artificail on the bottom.
i then put a paper towel layer (dry)
on to the soil surface., then set 2 boxes beside eachother..
the roots were well established and the plant has about 5 different leave nodes.
my hope. was that this will somehow make it more bushy,
i also have it set up on ventilation keeping it moving just a whisp..
but anyhow. peace man i need 2 smoke

after some thinking,
i gently cut coles in the bottom* but now top..* of the container
when i feel the plant needs watering i simply drip my water

i just wanted to see man, as my display says..
Im a shroom fiend, a fungi-Nated shroom fiend.
Even if you dont eat it, it grows. therefore it is.
since it is. i am content.
now heres what im saying..
if these dont abort, then ill take a spore print.
and pasteurise a 70/30 poo/hay sub.
then inoculate/wait/debate/...
thanks for an open mind etam.

The main things to do are as follows..
as we ALL know.. mushrooms like leeched,, ( rained on) mediums..
and after 3 or 4 hard rains in florida..
its been about 75-80 all week, and i am shure thats fine to support mycilium growing, and from previeous experience i know all the fields hotspots.
AND...
SOmeone, and i dont remember who, thier name escapes me right now..
has started a wonderfull outdoor tek.
making homemade cow pattys.. and putting em outdoors.
( shure,, they come pre pasteurised..)
but theyre still exposed to all of them contaminates during growth.
the fact is,, the field in itselfe is full of spores, i just have to get a chunk of the right kind, and colonise it to a pasteurised sub.

My problem isnt in buying them..
it is the SUspicion surrounding it.
i recently heard on here of a meth lab busted becuase someone baught red sulfer via internet. , that substance is not illegal in any way by itselve. but from buying it, you attract attention.
and i cant attract attention, if the police came here my closet has micro mushrooms.. and my other room has a upside down weed plant..
man i need to get a life.

Getting a mushroom was easy,
i knew that the most mousture would be on the sides, so i got all the white spots i could see close to there,
then i boiled water, ran a dishwash safe spray bottle thru the dishwasher on high heat. i then added the still boiling water to it, closed it and allowed it to cool to room temp overnight.
the next morning i sprayed it on high mist, very gently
over 3 days i could see the white splotch growing on the side,
then i got fed up with the growth, and moved it to the parmasean container.. haha. i air it out by opening the top piece.
it allowed for great airflow.|
The container acted as the perfect fruiting chamber, the jar was about 75-80% humidity,
the parmasean one stays at about 90%
so.. weel see what happens

I suggest you mail order a spore syringe from Ralphster. www.ralphstersspores.com. He destroys all his records. I've never had a problem getting cash to him in a security envelope. No paper trail. You really get 2 syringes for the price of one, because you can request the "strain of the month".

IMO, that's the best deal for beginners and people who are a bit paranoid.

If you want to be extra safe just dont order them to the place you grow at,if you learn to get good at making LC,spore printing and other things like grain to grain etc you wont have to order again fo the longest time,I have syringes that are months old that I haven't used just because I make sure I never seem to run out of liquid culture :rockon:
