Quick, cheap, effective setup.

i grabbed a rubbermaid container out of my basement, sprayed the sides with paint to keep out the light and sprayed the inside with lysol 3 times and left it in my closet for a few weeks. when my cake was ready to birth i put it in the middle of the rubbermaid with a pool of distilled water around the cake. then i put some tape over the top and punctured a somewhat medium sized hole in the top.
they live, and are growing quickly. all i have to do is squeeze the rubbermaid a few times every once in a while to get some air exchange.

If this setup is working for you then congrats on an easy setup. I would be worried about contamination being sucked back into the container after you push the air out. You should purchase some filter discs atleast and use some model glue to attach over your hole. They are cheap and worth it..
