Temperature Question
    #6459652 -

Hi,
new poster but ive been browsing for 5 or so years. Im thinking about growing my own but, my setup would have to be in the garage. And where i live it gets into the 20's at nite. I can heat the chamber with an aquarium heater or something but, my question is.. What kind of chamber would be good to HOLD the heat. I want the temp to stay fairly consistant. tupperwear? a cooler? foam? what?

thanks

Cooler would be good at maintaining the temp but probably not so good when it comes to gas exchange.

There are quite a few tek's out there on turning old frigdes into incubation/fruiting chambers. Would be good at holding in the heat and as long ay you have the space it shouldn't look out of place.

Old fridge or freezer with an incandescent bulb (at the bottom) hooked up to a thermostat (at the top).

I don't think you're going to have much luck cultivating in a room that goes down to the 20's. The room is what needs to be heated, not your fruiting chamber. A temperature difference that great between the inside and outside of your fruiting chamber would cause more condensation than you want to deal with. It doesn't take much room to cultivate. A closet perhaps?

I second the notion that a fridge is the way to go. I can show you pics of my setup.

Lucky you.
Just clean it out REALLY good.
It may take a few bulbs due to the extremely low temp.
Ya might try black-light bulbs.

If I were going to attempt this , I'd get one of those insulated blankets to throw over the whole thing to help keep the heat in and the cold out .

Good Luck
