substrate questions

i plan on using a substare recipe i found at the hawks eye, its the no p.c. mix. i have a few questions about the bran flakes and the seed meal.
1. what is seed meal?
2. whats a good kind of seed meal to sue if i cant get "Flax" seed meal?
3. what kind a of bran flakes can i use, i can only find oat bran flakes.

Seed meal means ground up seeds. Flax seed meal is ground flax seeds. You can find flax seeds in health food stores and grind them in a coffee grinder.
