YEMushrooms,

Have you experimented with both 80 and 90 degrees during colonization? Which seemed to encourage the quickest growth of mycelium? What strain are you growing?

Acording to Stamets? The Mushroom Cultivator the optimum temperature range for spawn run for P.Cubensis is 84-86?F. Thermal death occurs at 106?F.

in the past ive always just kept them in my closet which was only in the low to mid 70s. it takes long as hell to colonize at those temps. so i really dont have anything other than that to compare it too. right now i keep them on top of my monitor with a couple of t-shirts stuffed underneath. it creates a nice little heating pad. im sure its not wonderful for my monitor, but thats not my primary concern right now. ive found though that one or two tshirts make the jars around 90 degrees. anything more makes it 80 degrees. maybe ill try a towel. ill let you guys know what final temp i decide on.
oh yeah, 3 jars cambodia, 3 jars thailand, 6 jars of either "A" or mexicub. sticker came off the syringe so im not sure which one.

according to stamets, it's much better to be at a lower temp than at a higher temp, keep them at 80, if it's either that or 90.

My cat kept his jars at around 82 and the B+ colonized damn fast - 100% in about 9 days.
