There is some vermiculite stuck to the bottoms of my mushrooms, is it safe to eat it...?

I wouldnt eat vermiculite cakes but a little on the mushrooms wouldnt hurt anyone have fun and peace

ahha I thought you meant when you mix the brf and verm...it DOES smell kinda good

Why not just scrape it off with your fingernail...I heard verm can give you constipation!

Waaaaay back when I was in high school a friend of mine tried growing psilocybes. This was long before I'd even onsidered using drugs of any kind...

He used the PF Tek and had to sneak around his parents schedule, didn't have an autoclave, and the cakes grew some mycelium but not much.

Knowing that mycelium contains some psiocybin and psilocin, he and my friends decided to EAT THE CAKES. Yes, they ate the vermiculite/brown rice cakes.

Result? Nothing. They have all lived to tell about it. I am sure it is not so pleasant on the way out of your body, but I doubt ingestion will have long term effects - especially in such low quantities.

Try using a soft bristle tooth brush to remove the casing from the shroom.
