Eating Mycelium

I am a first time grower. My cakes have been incubating for 3 1/2 weeks now, none were contaminated. What I would really like to know is "Can I eat the excess mycelium growing on the jar lid, or mycelium in general"? And if I can, how does it range in potency of psilocin and psilocybin as compared to the actual mushroom itself? If someone has any insight on this, it would be very greatly appreciated/ Thanks! -Matt

I've ate colonized cakes before... Uhh, the potency isn't great, a whole cake seemingly had no affect whatsoever.
Vermiculite is pretty crunchy though

nope.
as you will notice later on, blue-bruising of the mycelium is a sign that psilocin is there. but at the moment, your mycelium is NOT bruising at all. it needs time till it gets to the casing or stay as a cake in your terrarium. about when it is time to flush, it starts producing 'magical' substances lol
also, i dont think that eating mycelium, even if its full of psilocin is a good thing for your stomach. there are some teks that do an extraction with cranberry but you need many cakes for one trip.
imho it doesnt worth it

I had one jar that started bruising before I even birthed it. It also sat around after it was completely colonized for a few weeks. Wonder if that's going to be bad? I just spawned it two days ago.

Haha, what's wrong with vermiculite?
And yeah I know it's not worth eating it, it was just a spent cake, might as well do something interesting with it

well my ass is quite warm in the ground so I`ll move when I feel the mushrooms growing. And no I didn`t pastuerise the straw. It came pre-pastuerized from my small intestine.

I went to the beach last night and ate some oysters off the rock. The rock was quite hard to bite but the oysters crushed easily. I think the sodium from the rocks will help my reumatism as well

so your ass works like an incumbation chamber... right... lol... well, do you use a special therometer/hygrometer up your ass? i mean sometimes it can be like a furnace inside there...
lol
i think you should strain the excess water off the straw with your nipples. just an idea...

Vermiculite can contain trace amounts of asbestos. And telling someone it's ok to eat is just wrong.

If you do a grain jar, and let it get mature enough to bruise. You could pour water in like the Grain LC tek. Shake it around and pour the water+myc into a cup and drink. But thats kinda yucky
