Psychoactive Honey and Rotten Mushrooms

I've been "preserving" a number of mushrooms in honey for several weeks during which time several questions have arisen:
1) will enough of the active ingredient "leak" into the honey over this amount of time to necessitate consumption of the honey as well as the shrooms?
2) how does one distinguish rotting mushrooms from blue/greening mushrooms of oxidation and aging?
and, 3) would consuming rotting mushrooms seriously endanger anyone's health?

I have never done it, but for what I have read is not a good way to preserve it, you are wasting and degrading the shrooms, people have used in the past when there were no refrigerators available, but freezing is the way to go.

As far as I know, if you put shrooms in honey, it actually slows down the oxidation. So, it preserves the magick in them further. But I think some psychoaktive ingredient will "leak" into the honey so, you have to eat the shrooms, and the honey as well... And it is too sweet... brr... I tried it once, and I don't see the point... I better eat a little more fresh, or dried shrooms than a lot of honey...
