Syrian Rue Brew

Tomorrow I will be dosing 3 grams of rue with 3.5 grams of shrooms. I have decided I am going to dose my rue in tea format, because I can down liquids pretty good. But I have just a few questions.

1.)What CAN I eat when using an MAOI? I haven't had anything to eat today, but I am starving so I want to eat something. The question is what is safe. The list on erowid isn't very extensive and I don't know what to and what not to eat. I was thinking of sticking to rice and water with a little bit of cherry coke here and there. But there are some chips in the cupboard that look very tasty and I didn't see anything about chips on the list. The only thing it said was that salt and vinegar chips are ok, but it didn't say anything about any other kind of chip.

2.) What is the best method to brew my tea? I was just going to put 3 cups of water into a pan boil it and then strain. Save the resulting juice and do it again a few times. Then boil down to about 1/2cup of juice. I have read about putting some kind of acid in the brew such as lemon juice or so. Is this needed? or will it be ok if I pass that step.

3.) How long will the tea stay good? I was sort of hoping I would be able to brew the tea tonight because I don't get out of work until 8pm tomorrow and I sort of wanted to take the shrooms right then. I don't really want to wait to brew the tea and then take the shrooms. I know I need to wait about an hour after I down the tea for the shrooms, but I just don't want to brew it tomorrow.

Well there are my questions. If you have the answer to any of them please post below. Please do not comment on my dosage amount, I have read and read and I know what my body can handle. I just don't want this thread to get off topic.

plain white rice in moderation
very fresh and unbrowned bananas are ok
try and not eat anything 6 hours before launch time, as well as 6 hours after.

3.5 grams will feel like 10 grams easily.

only use like 1.5-2 grams of rue anymore its no longer an enhanced mushroom trip but a syrain rue trip enhanced by mushrooms both rue and pslilocin bind to the same site and rue can easily steal openings by over powering

Best to boil the tea or toast the dry seeds to remove any possibly unwanted chemicals in the seeds. Expect to trip extremely hard at the dose you're going for.

I wouldn't eat the chips. No real danger, but processed foods like that can contribute a lot to stomach discomfort. I always try to eat completely naturally on days I might take an maoi, or any plant hallucinogen. I've found that sugary, caffeinated substances are especially unsettling on rue. Other than that you've got it. Rice, bananas, any kind of fresh fruit, juice without added sweetener, nuts, fresh fish if you have it...

Fruit and fruit juice are especially good as chasers for really nasty brews, they can beat soda easily. Be careful with juice though, I've puked my guts out severely minutes after chasing with cranberry juice sweetened with high fructose corn syrup.

That shit is disgusting, you can taste high fructose corn syrup in the back of your throat the entire time you're tripping. I'm sorry, I just have a severe grudge against this ridiculously unnatural processed sweetener that is now in every single kind of food item, even plain white bread. I would avoid that with maois.

It shouldn't really matter if you wait to start eating them with tea, unless you're worried about the physical effects from the rue which will settle after a little while (expect to be
tripping pretty hard from that much rue at this point however).

Maybe think about taking less... old rhyming adage, 2 and 2

wwholely shit you have experiance tasteing something in the back of your throat the whole trip i had that so far with beer and salad dressing. i dunno if its the same thing but mine i not only tasted
it and it was sicking but it felt like it was stuck in my throat it was so wierd. i think maybe its ayahuasca telling me not to drink beer or use salda dressing that really artifcial or something

Well I have decided against tripping tonight. I figure that I just don't have time to do it. I don't get off work till 8pm and by time I get home brew the tea and dose my shrooms it will be around
11pm. I know that using an maoi with shrooms is also suppost to legthen the trip a little bit and I don't really want to be up all night tonight. I've gotta work again tomorrow.

I will make sure to get some good cranberry juice for when I do do it. Like ocean spray or something. I usually drink ocean spray with my shrooms anyways.

I do know that this is a pretty high dose but I am ready for it. My last trip that I had I took a little over 9 grams of shrooms. My typical dose is a 1/4 oz and I have gone has high as 11 grams
before. I have been trying to reach ego loss, and I have figured the best way to do it is with an MAOI. I was really looking forward to tripping tonight too, but there just isn't the time. It really
sucks with school and work loading me down. I might request a day off on the weekend or something so I can do this. Thanks for the tips.

What you want to avoid are tyramines. REOSpeedwagon suggested nuts; nuts are loaded with tyramines, bad suggestion bro.

Pretty much any source of protein is going to have tyramines, any kind of meat ( fish to a lesser extent ), cheese or nut ( this includes peanuts even tho they are technically a legume. ) Bean curd
is
very bad as is Miso soup which uses bean curd. Sorry no miso for youso. Some strains of brewers yeast are also bad in combination w/ maoi's, avoid good beer and liquor. Stick to miller light ( piss
in
a can ).

Stick to a cereal, fruit and veggie diet for a day, it wont kill ya.

I don't think the tyramines are a big deal. There are different types of maois, and as I understand it, the harmala compounds are the weaker forms, and are unlikely to cause too much of an effect with foods as opposed to drugs.

I have the suspicion that long term use of maois and tyramines together could lead to a potentially dangerous buildup of tyramine, but a couple of nuts on syrian rue probably won't cause a problem.

I suggested this because I've noticed, myself, that eating nuts on rue makes me feel a little better (as by this time I'm usually pretty tired from not eating much during the day).

So, my point is, I think trying to eat mostly natural foods is more important than strictly sticking to the tyramine list.

One time I got crazy and decided I would take some St. Johns Wort with Rue and I also had a bit of caffeine. I'm okay; however, I don't think you should. If you do BE CAREFUL! Because tyramine, adrenaline, noradrenaline, serotonin, and even psilocin are catecholamines. St. John Wort is a COMT inhibitor. Theses substances(maybe even psilocin) are all vasoactive. I'm not sure about the degree of vasoactivity of psilocin. It was the most exhilarating energetic drug experience I've had. I mean who needs cocaine or Amp when you got this combo. It made me have a headache and I felt nervous after I ate Chinese food containing MSG.

I was planning on eating a gram of shrooms and probably a gram of ground up harmala seeds tomorrow morning then spending the day at a university arboreteum.

Would I be able to eat a few pb and j sandwiches? or is there another type of sandwich I could eat? I'll probably get some fruit too (cantelope/melon/grapes probably).

Do I have to wash the seeds in anything special (besides water) before i grind them up and eat them? I'm not too sure how I'm supposed to prepare them. I bought them from iamshaman.

Brew those seeds like you would coffee or cocoa then flavor with milk and sugar. You may add decaf coffee or chocolate to cover the taste up too.

See they must be brewed otherwise you will get nausea, vomiting and hangover. Because the fresh seeds appear to have a volatile aldehyde in them. The aldehyde is similar to ethanol or acetaldehyde. I noticed the seeds smell different when they are fresh. They stink of old coffee grounds(benzaldehyde is responsible for coffee's fragrance).

The syrian rue didn't give me any nausea (I smoked some mj with it when i was coming up anyways though), but it made me feel really exhausted and weak. Somewhat clumsy though, but overall it was a pretty great trip. I'm not going to mess around with MAOIs anymore, because it's a pain in the ass for me to not each cheese or other foods.
