I think that if your main aim is to make some prints and syringes, you should stick to the most reliable way of making those, and thats quite simple actually....just let those cakes fruit,make some prints, and continue.
Or at least let one of them fruit, and try inoculating some straw with the other...but dont get too anxious about prints and stuff, if you need one, PM me. :smile:

Well, Florence had exactly the same experience not long ago, so she used the last 2 good cakes to innoculate some straw (in a 10L container, about half full), using the Shroom God Straw tek (which is on The Shroomery) for guidelines, and putting the container inside a perlite chamber for fruiting. Results were pretty good, although she stupidly used a transparent container which resulted in large mushrooms trying to grow all over the place where they couldn't. Don't do this! First proper flush was only about 120g wet but probably would have been over 200 if it weren't for that basic mistake. Still not finished fruiting so no telling how big the crop will be in the end. Straw is a good medium for your first attempts at bulk and casing: it's very forgiving and gives good yields. In the experience of my friends, you should pasteurise the straw at relatively low temps (see the Shroom God tek)OR sterilise it completely - getting it too hot without total sterilisation results in a bacterial bloom. Pasteurisation has worked for everyone I've spoken to. Also, avoid the temptation to try to innoculate too much straw with too little innoculate: if it takes too long for the mycelium to grow through the straw then there's a high risk of contamination.

I think you better figgure out why the other 30 plus cakes didn't make it.
maybe you have a bacterial contam in the cakes.

If the cakes that you do have left are contam free.
I'd spawn the 3 cakes with horse poo.
If you would like help doing this.....PM me.
I'm getting great results with the poo.

The corn cob slurry tek isn't very promising yet.....btw.
