Piggybacking routers

I was wondering if anyone knew how to piggyback routers together. I've got a D-link wireless router and a Linksys wireless router. My cable line comes into the computer room and connects to the modem and then to the router and then to my PC. I want to run another line from the router to the other room where I have two xboxes that I need online. I know that using a switch for the xboxes would probably be a better idea but I've already got the two routers.

Are there any specific settings that I need to change in the routers. Such as making the network set up on static IP addresses or anything like that?

First connect JUST your computer to the router. Go into the settings and set the router IP to 168.192.(your other routers number).2

This is to ensure that both routers are using the same subnet. Your router either uses 1 or 2 for the third number. Save the changes and refresh your IP in windows (you will need to do this!!).

Go back into the setup and turn OFF the DHCP client for the local network.

Now connect everything the way you will have it set up. Connect everything through the LAN side of the router, leaving the WAN side empty.

Should be working!
