I was wondering if anyone had any experience utilizing the "waste" water from pasteurizing wheat straw. I recently used this water when making up some rye jars and everything seems to be growing ok. I am also using this water for fermenting some oyster liquid spawn and mycelium is already growing on the surface of the water after 3 days. What do you say, fellow cultivators of the mycelical mind?
- You can use it as herbicide... - It is not advised to pasteruize straw more than twice in the same water or the mycelia won't grow on it.
I guess it's no good except if it harms contaminants more than mushrooms.
