Does the colour of wheat straw sometimes cause the base of a stem to become yellow in color? My friend has noticed that the first inch of most of his stems have a yellow colouring on the inside is this normal?

Ok...hold on and I will call my friend.(in the Netherlands)..... He says no he hasnt seen this yellow on the inside of stems grown from a wheat straw substrate. He suggests you ask some others but he said that in his personal experience he has not seen this coloration.

It's weird but ever since he's been working with the PESA strain even from the first multi spore innoculation they've had a yellow tint very creamy causing the blue bruising to look slightly green, perhaps a characteristic of PESAs? Oh well I guess it doesn't matter, I should tell this person to register on here so I dont have to keep asking for them. They too are in the netherlands ODD :P

ive only fruited PESA on straw and the stems did have more of a caramel/yellow color to them with the occasional yellowish brown stripe on the stem. never assessed the insides of the stem but id assume this is a normal charactoristic of this strain.
-------------------- Holy shit people; COMMON SENSE! we were all born with it where did it go? maybe theres a tek out there to explain how to use it! BUCKETS BRIGADE left hand man!!!

i asked him and he happened to grow the pesa strain too. he said they definately get much more green/blue when picked. Even when they were growing, the stems had a slight green tint. theres a lot of confusioun about this strain and the other'pes' ones. his was purchased from hawks eye as the 'PESA" strain. this is not considered the 'hawaiin' strain by his understanding.

SumGuy.. I recently began working with wheat straw and my first flush of B+ on the uncased straw there was a very noticeable bluish-green streaks along the base of the stems. No signs of contamination in the straw. I picked them and as they dried the greenish tint on the stems almost dissapeared. The fruits were eaten and no ill effects followed.
