Most believers would rather whine about the "unfairness" of designing your own test because the "negative energy" of the testers guarantees failure. You will get lots of fluff in response, but no substance.

When I was younger, I used to be really into magic. My mom used to take me to magic conventions in Montreal. They would showcase different magicians and have lectures and shows. One year Randi was there and I went to his lecture. He said that he would explain any trick or escape he's ever done. He explained a bunch of tricks and also told stories about various escapes he's done. Afterward me and my mom talked to him. My mom hates him because she's all spiritual and Randi doesn't believe any of that stuff. She just doesn't like his attitude towards things. Just thought I'd share.
Mr Crisper, what were you thinking of trying?

She doesnt realy hate him, I dont think my mom hates anyone. She's Buddhist and she is very kind, one of the best people I know. She just thinks that he's too critical and that his need to expose people is testostorone driven.

My understanding is that spiritual powers are not to be used for show but to help others. Using them to get money would then be highly antithetical to spirituality.
Using them to prove they exist would then build up the ego of the "user" when the aim of spirituality is to reduce the ego. In the Christian tradition for example, Jesus was tempted by Satan to use his powers to fly, materialize food, etc. and he was rebuked.
If these powers exist, it seems to me that attempting to harness them or control them has it quite backwards. People are instruments. Are spiritual powers something to be controlled or used? Aren't spirituality and materialism diametrically opposed? Isn't this like asking someone to burn water?

And your "understanding" comes from where? I guess according to you that musicians, artists and anyone else who has a gift from God, should starve rather than charge for the viewing of their talents. Or they should work at some job they hate so that you can get something for nothing. How spiritual is that?

The gifts that we have been given are meant to be expressed not suppressed.
Are spiritual powers something to be controlled or used?
There is nothing anywhere pointing to telepathy (if it exists) being any more spiritual than eyesight, which is obviously meant to be used.

I Don't believe in "magical powers", but in forces that each one of us are able to develop.
It's stupid that someone that has "remembered" who he/she is would take that challenge. It's so trivial... And no, it's not an excuse. Need proof? Have you ever heard the term "collective consciousness"? It's like approaching an artist and saying: "do your thing", "I need to see that you did all those paintings". Some things can't be forced and this is not a circus or a freak show.
I believe in me, in my experience, and I don't need to post lies in the shroomery. I'm learning to use my energy, and you can do it too.
Swami, have you ever practiced yoga or meditation?
What do you think about it?
Have you experienced REAL LOVE? There's nothing more psychic than that.

It seems clear to me that the original post I responded to regarding the challenge was referring to supernatural powers..healing, remote-viewing - things of that nature rather than readily demonstrable gifts such as singing. Brittany Spears not withstanding.

Agreed. So where do you get this notion that some talents can be exchanged for goods and some can't? Even in primitive societies, the local witch doctor is usally offered a goat or chicken for his services.
I responded to regarding the challenge was referring to supernatural powers..healing, remote-viewing...
Supernatural equals either non-existent or not understood. If we don't know the mechanism behind such powers then we call them supernatural.
From the perspective of some primitive peoples, a modern doctor's medicines would seem quite supernatural. Should doctors not be allowed to charge for their services to repay them for there many years of study and schooling?
In American Indian traditions, shamans may study for decades under strict tutelage and discipline before being allowed to practice. Why should there be no balance? They give and everyone takes. Energy must flow both ways. Money is just one form of energy.
Healing is healing; whether with a word, a touch or an operation.

1968, in cairo, there appeared a woman on top of the cross on the roof of a coptic church in the suburb of zeitoun.
a crowd gathered and the woman began to emit a brilliant white light, so bright it lit up the night sky.
she re-appeared the next night and then almost every night for 3 years, sometimes just a few minutes. on june 8 1968, she appeared at 9pm and disappeared at 4:30am.
