Hm. You don't have an obligation but it would be nice.

Not to one-up you or anything but I sold merchandise for a band tonight and got tipped 25 and given two free beers. :razz: :1up:

i just got to thinking, and not so much specifically about what happened today.... but the situation in general. if someone were to tip you then tell you what to spend it on, would you give it any thought?

i wouldnt say you have to spend it on a beer, i would think about it, but im sure the person meant just spend it on something that will make you smile.

I feel that you should only feel obligated to do with the money what they ask if they are invested in you more than the one sentance. If you had a ten minute conversation about how you liked some type of beer and he tipped you ten dollars to get that beer...

At my old gas station job, every now and then a nice old lady would win some money on scratch off lotto tickets, and sometimes they would give me a couple bucks because I sold them a winner. Its usually only a few bucks, and I spend it on the tickets.

Once a lady won 2 bucks on a dollar ticket, which happens alot, and she gave me a dollar. I spent it on another dollar ticket a half hour later and won 20 bucks.
