I just got my first couple shrooms. I just need to know if anyone has any easy ways of keeping mushrooms fresh. I only need to keep them till monday (i have a friend that is leaving for two years). I was thinking about just putting them on a plate with a paper towel on it, in the refridgerator. Is that bad. Any good Ideas please.

they'll be fine in the fridge 'til monday.  i'd wrap them in a few layers of paper towel and stick them in any kind of bag.  if you use a ziplock bag, make sure you put a fair amount of paper in there to absorb extra moisture which can get the mushrooms all nasty.

if you're looking to dry them.. put them in front of a fan and air dry for a day, then transfer them to a dessicant chamber.  to make one just get a tupperware container, some wire mesh, and some calcium chloride (available in hardware stores in the paint section under product names like Dri-Z-Air or Drierite). 

take your wire mesh, cut a piece and fold the edges down so that it makes a little platform ~1cm above the bottom of the container.  then put paper over the mesh and pour on a good amount of the calcium chloride.  on top of that layer, cut another piece of mesh and bend the edges like before to make another platform directly above the calcium chloride layer.  then just lay your air dried shrooms on that top layer, close up the container, and let them sit for a day or so.  check in on the calcium chloride layer to make sure it doesn't become saturated with moisture or it won't dry effectively.  you want the shrooms to >>sNaP<< when you bend them.  i've used shrooms that have been dried after eight months with no noticeable loss in potency!  have a good trip :cool:

thanks man.

But actually I justwent to the store and got hone. then I put a few of them in honey, This was after I read your reply, I hope that will be okay. the tops of thm keep floating up into the top, exposing it to air. we shall see.
