drying w/ calcium chloride

I got some calcium chloride to use for drying. On the packaging, however, it doesn't say anything about it being a drying agent. It says it's for melting snow and ice. They are in pellet form.
It says it is 90-92% calcium choliride and 2-6% water
Will this work or did I get the wrong kind?

Feedback is greatly appreciated.

this is the stuff you are supposed to put down to melt ice. I dont know if this is the right suff.

i found a piece of wire mesh in my basement and cut a hole in the bottom of a shoebox. cut and placed the wire in there so it fit snug. then i point a large (18" i believe) upward and turn it on medium. place teh box with your shrooms on the fan. after 8 or 10 hours i need to switch the fan to low because theyve dried and start blowing around my room :smile:
takes about 14 hours total last time i dried just over 1/2 oz.
