green straw? yellow straw? does it matter?

so i bought what i thought was a bale of "wheat straw" today. this is the first time ive ever bought straw ... or ever needed to distinguish between types of straw, or evaluate the quality of straw -- and im pretty clueless. so i need some help:

the straw i got is pretty green. maybe 50% pale green in color and the other 50% is yellow. it looks pretty fresh but in "shroomgods straw tek" he says that green straw is really bad and that anyone who uses it will surely fail..... anyone disagree?

my housemate said if i wait a few days itll dry out and turn more yellow (but i dont think he knows too much about this either).

should i wait for it to turn yellow, chuck it, or should i go for it and take care of this spawn thats burning a hole in my closet.... thanks.

never tried green straw but if you want it will turn yellow if placed in the sun.
