Has anyone ever tried Nomi's Cubensis Method? Heres what it is... http://www.shroomery.org/findorgrowthem.php?View=docs&doc=31 1. Go out and gather some grass, leaves and flowers, dried or green. Avoid thick stems, otherwise you can pick just about anything green. I usually fill up a grocery bag. Its never as much as it looks, so gather about twice as much as you think you need. 2. Put the stuff in the freezer over night. Preferably packed in a plastic bag. This serves two purposes. One is that the next day you can break the stuff apart somewhat to make it easier to manage. The other is that it destroys the cell-structure and allows the mycelium to colonize much faster. 3. Boil the stuff for one hour. This is for sterilizing and again to break down the cells of the plants. Make sure the water covers the grass completely. 4. The important bit. When the grass has been boiling for a half an hour. Remove a cup of the boiling water and save it in a container with a lid on. The water should have a clear yellow or brownish color. Don't worry if there are particles floating around in it. Put it away till it has cooled to roomtemperature. 5. After boiling, pour of the water and let the stuff cool for a while. Try to get most of the water out some way or the other, no need to worry about sterility, just wring it out or something, and then put it in a clear plastic bag, or possibly a big jar. 6. Leave the grass alone for a few days. Take the (now cooled off) yellow water, and either inject some sporewater into the jar (or take some mycelium from another batch). Shake it every once in a while. The water should go from clear to misty in a matter of days. 7. When you can see how the particles floating around in the water become all fuzzy its time to pour it into the bag with the grass. Poke a few small holes in the bag. Would this work? Would you case it or just let the shrooms grow in the bags? please give me your thoughts. Thanks

man, once i tried this tek (or at least my version of it...) the only difference is that my substrate was a mix of sugar cane straw (dried out sugar canes) and green (fresh) grass on an eyeballed mix to give it a decent structure (not too open nor too close) ... pasteurized for half an hour (70~75?C) and innoculated with PF cake on a reasonable rate and put in a plastic container (but i think yes, if youre clean you shuold be able to incubate it where you want)... man, mycelium seems to like it and runs it fast as hell on geometric progression. the only con is that it seemed to have stalled near the end of colonization so i took off the non colonized area and proceeded. it gave me HUGE shrooms (a 30cm cambo, gonna update this post when scanned) but i think i didnt take the most out of it because i think some light was penetrating during the incubation phase. being the cambos an early pinner, actually it begun to pin during case run (i know, my mistake) and gave sparse huge shrooms for a while. very potent shrooms too. beware. i think this method (or a customized method like mine) is very easy and CHEAP, and its easy to make superspawining and sustaining your cultures for a long time, perhaps years. i have not been able to make that mycelium water in the tek... it contamineted. its not as easy as the author says. go for it is what is say, i would just tend more towards straw and dried grass rather than fresh stuff and innoculate it with pf cakes or grain spawn or any spawn... very easy way to multiply your biomass... good luck for everyone who tries it!
