Ryche, while those are true monsters and impressive in size, there isn't that great of fruiting body density. The bottom line is how much did this patch produce per square foot? I'm guessing indoor patches, with their small but extremely densely-populated fruits, actually produce more mushroom mass per square foot--granted an indoor patch is a lot more work.

That's the THIRD flush? That is impressive! It's amazing how outdoor patches produce such large, robust fruits.

I would guess it probably has a lot to do with the fact that outdoor environments are highly dynamic whereas indoor environments generally are not--and understandably so; imagine the work to recreate outdoor cycles!

I'd also guess that the stimulating symbiotic relationship that fungi have with bacteria is more apt to flourish outdoors whereas indoors it is stifled.
