Moist spore prints

Hi, is it okay that my spore prints seem slightly moist? They're not wet, but they're not really "dry" either. I printed on alfoil, and noticed that some of the spores were stuck to the "roof" of the flap that I folded over, leaving the original print a bit messy. I hope that explains what I mean. I don't expect it would be a big problem, the prints are pretty dark - just asking in case...

They should be dry before you try to scrape them anywhere's. They should dry themselves pretty quick.

Even when wrapped up in alfoil? I'm worried they might rot or something...

I had a problem sorta like that. i had moisture on my foil. when you make prints sometimes you may need to remove the cap(when its done) and let the print dehumidify.

What if you weren't smart enough to post this question, and went ahead and folded the tinfoil up & put it in a little baggie while the print was still moist? Would the print be useable? Someone I know does stupid crap like this all the time.

I use wax paper and fold then stick my prints in the dessicant chamber for a day. Nice and dry spores that way. Just make sure when you make a syringe that you let the spores re-hydrate for 24 hours in the syringe before you do any innoculations

I like foil the best for printing. I have gotten a print that was slightly moist, everything went well. I believe if the print is fresh there is now need to rehydrate the spores, I have inoculated min after making a syringe from a fresh print. Signs of mycelium were fast 1-3 days. If the print is a few months old it may need to reydrate in the syringe for 12-24 hours
