i don't know what galvanized means?

Snaggle: just lookin over your ingredients right now for a great looking lc... 10 gm. each to how many cups of water?

I did not have luck measuring the materials. Until I was reminded to weigh it out.

I have luck with 5g per 2cups/450ml you can double it for the amount you need like 10g for 4cups

Though I like to make 2 LC at a time, redundancy.

Another thing that I use which is not needed but makes it much nicer and even maybe better, though I cant back that part up.

Is the filter you use, I had no luck with coffee filters, most do but I did not. Until I got this set up, fairly cheap and can be used more for just LC. I can recommend it.

easy way:

1 quart of water
1 level tablespoon of light malt
1 level tablespoon of dextrose

Galvanized nails are coated with zinc, I believe, as a protection against rust

If they are coated...

when you cut the nail head off. Wouldn't that make it susceptable to oxidation?

very possible. Never used a nail myself.
I would assume that would open that part up for rusting.
maybe the crimping of the metal from cutting will sort of seal that soft spot? Hard telling not knowing.

i don't think i understand the concept of that device. I have seen it, but looks too complicated for me, so i figured i didn't need it.

The last lc's i made were Dt's and they turned out pretty good. Made with just marbels. Workd great, but instead of Dextrose, i use'd Honey in one, and Karo in the other. (the honey is better IMO)

This time i used the dextrose, and i used 2 tblsp. for about 4 cups of water. It's almost a full qt. (not what i wanted to do, but oh well...)

goin in the PC here soon.... (also i am using a plastic lid this time.)

FYI some drill bits don't rust and are light enough to spin freely. They make a good choice when cut to the proper Length.
