is GOD spiritual
    #5852263 -

just the concept puts a bad taste in my mouth. Why even have a word for god? I suppose its a him you are all worshiping. I don't beleive in "GOD" or "god", I beleive in many gods.

Zeus (Greek: nominative Ζεύς, Zeús accusative Δíᾰ, Día, genitive Δíος, Díos) is the leader of the gods, ruler of Mount Olympus, and god of the sky and thunder in Greek mythology. His attributes included thunder and the lightningbolt, the scepter, and the eagle. The son of Cronus and Rhea, he was among the youngest of his siblings Hestia, Demeter, Hera, Hades, and Poseidon. He was married to Hera, although some sources seem to imply that his original wife was Dione, about whom little is known. Known for his numerous affairs and lovers, he also had pederastic relationships, such as with Ganymede. His numerous affairs resulted in many offspring, some of the more wellknown being Apollo and Artemis by Leto, Hermes by Maia, Dionysus by Semele, Perseus by Danae, Heracles by Alcmene, and the Muses by Mnemosyne; By Hera, he sired Ares, Eileithyia, Hebe and Hephaestus. According to Homer, he was the father of Aphrodite by Dione. His Roman counterpart was Jupiter, and his Etruscan counterpart was Tinia.

I recommend the books Gods in Every Man and Goddesses in Every Woman by Dr. Jean Shinoda-Bolen, a psychiatrist and Jungian analyst. These are two of the most readable and important Jungian books that I've ever read, and shows how the gods and goddesses of the Greek pantheon [all god] represent universals whose varying 'presences' in all of our psyches accounts for our individuality. It's like the same water molecules, with the same 104.5 degree angles between atoms can form into the infinite variety of snow flakes.

For a partial example: I am primarily a Hermes man, with elements of Apollo, Hephaestus and Dionysus and a touch of Ares. I noticeably lack the Zeus archetype (not a womanizer or a father). Each deity is an isolated color of a spectrum of deities which are really aspects of ONE White Light.

where do dogs and cats and toads go? well according to the vet they go to pet heaven for a fee.

now just imagine that you are a cat, or dog or toad. A toad is good. You just sit there all day, everyday waiting for a fly. Just being.
After you've eaten your limit you die.

What was your purpose in being other than eating flies?

Your only purpose was being a part of nothing that was too
scared to be anything more than being...ie nothing

being a toad with a lightning tongue is all you'll ever be,
until you get tired of being nothing and you decide to be a fly.

all this being and not being is a load of crap and the only
thing that you can do is survive

What's the problem with just being if you are, or just not being if you aren't?

Oh ok cool.  So then, isn't the purpose irrelevant?  That's kind of just some junk added on top of being.  Whether you are fulfilling some purpose or not, you still are.

If you want to choose to label that is-ness as one god or many gods, I don't think there's much of a difference.  It is just layers.  So there is the cosmic awareness.  Is that a piece?  That kind of includes being or not being in its entirety right?  Or we can do the whole human thing and categorize and label everything.  The god of war, famine/abundance, rain, etc.  I don't see much of a difference.

To talk about it we need at least some kind of word for it.  Either rain is the force of simple awareness or the aspect of this thing we call rain within simple awareness.  Shrug

I'll be a non spiritualist with a spiritualist upbringing...

A Rose By Any Other Name Is Still A Rose ...

soo i have to define my new existence as a non spiritualist...
its somebody that goes with the flow
and picks up with the tempo, its a minstrel.

its a being that no longer accepts the happenstance
of its being... its a god

here today gone tomorrow and that's the reason we need many gods;
if it was up to me
the universe as I know it
wouldn't exist

but it's not me
soo I'm a being that thinks its a god
or was a god

that doesn't beleive in god...

or doesn't believe in not being god

soo what am I?
