this is what I found this morning... I probably shouldnt have bothered going through all this but figured it would be a good learnign experience.


* Habitat: growing among leaves and other fallen vegetation

* Characteristics of the gills: white,


* the cap: yelow and fades to white, also slimy

*the stem: white, meaty

* Spore print color: hasnt dropped yet I will post asap

* Color that the mushroom bruises: will post that up with the spore print

* Scent of the mushroom: none really









spore print will be on here asap

I also found these...no info on these ones though besides a couple pictures...

you need to seperate and number your shrooms, and have a description of each if u want an ID. I am fairly sure the very top one is a type of Amanita, so after you handle it, wash your hands before you eat.(possibly deadly poisonous) if you are looking for actives, none of yours are. The bottom one is interesting.

The first picture looks a lot like Amanita virosa, the destroying angel. However the sliminess of the cap, the yellow color, and the apparent lack of a volva or cup at the base in the third pic sort of rule that out. I'm not sure what it is exactly. Still enough like an amanita that you don't want to eat it. You won't get sick from touching it though.

Your second to last pic is a Russula. Great pics though, and nice job on the description. Dune, I think he said he just wanted the first shroom ID'd for practice.

For the spore print, you should use black paper since I'm betting this mushroom will have white spores.

ok thanks for the response I also found these a few minutes ago..and yes I figured they were not active...I just figured this would be a good learnign experience and I think it has been. Also I checked the cow fields near my house, lots of cow crap, nice and damp out, no shrooms.

anyways I just found these...I dont think they are active either, just using this as a learning experience and learning to identify shrooms properly...thanks

* the cap: brown..with white edge, about the size of a quarter

*the stem: solid stringy...short, very light brown and white

* Scent of the mushroom: none

yeah well all of the spore prints where white...except for the spore print from the all orange shroom...oh and yes the black paper worked and I think this has been a great learning experience. I think tommorow I will check more of the fields around my house, theres lots of them.

I can aasume the spore will be an orange color on that first shroom. It is possibly a type of Gym.  Nice discriptions  :thumbup:

Doesnt Lepiota atrodisca have more of a dark center on the cap? I believe the center on these was more of a brown
