Here is a little set up I made with a walmart cooler,walmart thermostat,and a Petco 50W fishtank heater. I just poured about 2 gallons of water at the bottom and threw the heater in there and set it to 86 degrees.
It works as a great humidifier too keeping humidity at around 99%. I incubate my spawn in this little contraption. and the water stays at a steady 85-87 degrees. I also put some hydrogen peroxide in the water to keep alge under contol.
What do you guys think? Im putting this thing up for u guys to criticize and maybe give me some helpful hints on how to make it better.

Hey I wanted to mention this but I forgot! Must be from a the weed :^)
Since you have your temp. going up to 86f....I recommend you check them often. The lid being closed will cause heat build up fast. Unless that shuts off automaticly?

Yeah it does shut off automaticly. Its a great little 50W heater, the most expensive part of my little set up it was 30 bucks at Petco

you should keep the temp a little bit lower...like 82-84...your jars are gonna be up to two degrees hotter inside.

Actually that temp that you see in the pics is of the water. I placed my thermostat in the cooler and had it read the temp of the air and it was about 80 degrees. But that temp of 85~86 is of the water. I can switch bewtween the temprature being read from the device itself or a cord that has a temp. reader at the end of a wire ( you can the white wire leading into the water the reader is sumberged under the plastic box)

Just a note about that digital thermometer/humidity guage. I bought the exact same one at wally world for like 20 bux or so. The only part of it thats meant for outdoors is that little wire with the thing hanging on the end, and thats only for temperature.
I guarantee that within a month that thing will go on the fritz from humidity buildup on its internals. I still have mine and can barely read what it says by now.
Now K-mart sells a model that holds up very well to humidity for about the same price. If there are any K-marts in your area that arent shutting down. I love that place. I built almost everything I have from K-mart.
