Heavy/Black/Grunge Metal
    #5706279 - 06/03/06 12:43 AM (17 years, 7 months ago)

I was trying to expand my metal library today and was looking at bands and songs and stuff and I noticed that most metal bands like long ass names.
Right now I'm listening to:
"If Wishes Were Horses More Beggars Would Ride Them" off of The Chariot's album Everything Is Alive, Everything Is Breathing Nothing Is Dead and Nothing Is Bleeding.

Isn't that crazy...that's all.

You can't go wrong with "Unsuccessfully Coping With The Natural Beauty Of Infidelity" by Type O Negative.

if you still wish to expand i might have some artists you haven't heard yet.
unholy black metal; i like burzum, immortal, darkthrone, leviathan, carpathian forest etc.. i'm not into black metal as much as i used to be..

you should get some doom..
electric wizard - 'dopethrone'
old katatonia like 'brave murder day' or 'sounds of decay'(if you're a fan of opeth, both of those albums have michael akerfeldt on vox)
dolorian - when all the laughter has gone
i could go on.. but i always feel like i'm talking to a wall when recommending metal bands here.

how about Bal Sagoth

"The Dark Liege of Chaos is Unleashed at the Ensorcelled Shrine of A'Zura Kai (The Splendour of a Thousand Swords Gleaming Beneath the Blazon of the Hyperborean Empire Part II)"

or

"In The Raven-Haunted Forests Of Darkenhold, Where Shadows Reign And The Hues Of Sunlight Never Dance"

I never listened to them that much but they definitely have the longest song names I've seen.

Crowbar

They are veterans of the trade, they helped start "Sludge Metal" in New Orleans.

Where the fear has gone there will be nothing. Only I will remain.”

Isis
Neurosis
Opeth

Seems like all you needed was a thread about metal for the metal heads to come out of the wood work.

And thanks everyone for all the band recommendations.
