psychic powers suck

don't ever wish something like that on yourself
you wanna be psychic? a lot of people think they do.
but what they don't realize is that being psychic forces you to see things you don't want to see, and know things you don't want to know.
Not only that, you can feel people's pain, fears, anxieties, any kind of negative emotion you can think of. All of the feelings of others drown you in a vast flood of emotion. Since most people tend to be emotionally unbalanced, its not usually very pleasant to feel what they are feeling.
Also, so many people's thoughts crowd your mind that it is often difficult to hear yourself think. Its like a thousand TV's going all at once, all tuned to different channels.
But the worst part is when you are psychic, you know when other people are lying to you.
and the very sad truth is, people lie a LOT. about really important things. And they sit there and all this bullshit comes out of their mouths and they have this shit-eating grin on their face, and they totally think they're getting away with something.
Knowing the difference between the real truth and what comes out of people's mouths can often make people appear to be complete scumbags. For the sad truth is, they often are complete scumbags.
the basic point of this post is, psychic powers are not fun in a world of flawed human beings. It just sucks. You feel the pain and suffering of all, and let me tell you, thats a lot of pain and suffering, for people hurt themselves and eachother quite a bit.
Its like people are both inside and outside of you.
learning to control psychic powers can be a difficult challenge. You have to learn how to focus, concentrate, and throw everyone out of your mind. It takes years of practice for a psychic to master his own mind, for truly his mind is ALL minds. It can be hard to take control, but sometimes its painfully obvious that it has to be done.

yeah, but you must understand that new minds are born every day
so its like your work is never done.
because every new person is another mind you must tame.
another destiny you must fulfill
a psychic's mental plate is never empty. It always keeps stacking up, higher and higher. the work is never over

its probably not just him doing the predicting, but those he is connected to
as I said, its difficult to control one's own mind,
when you are aware of your connection to others
the thoghts kind of bleed through
it can be learned to be controlled though
just takes practice and dedication
and a little help from outside sources

hahahaha yes its so true, being psychic took all my hope about humanity, thats for sure. Especially when i listen to politics, i just KNOW they are totally lieing. Yeah, its depressing, but there are plusses and minuses to everything in life. yeah but its possible to control it over time. At first i would get the mass of feelings and thoughts, but it just took a look inside, and not focusinig on other people as much. Now i am fiercely individual, so i only hear or feel when i focus on them, or they focus on me. But consider what you lose when you control it too, all the mystery and magic of it is gone. Im so used to it now it seems normal to me.

I actually think that everyone hase psychic powers. Its just that most people also have the automatic barrier that blocks everything out. When a person opens the door they are floded with too much info. Not unlike watching TV for more than an hour(for me at least). I think the real mental evelution is the ablilty to block all except for the object of your intrest.

Either way, on any future visit, the island would be a source of meat. These islands, they were pristine. These were home to breeds of birds with no natural predators. Breeds of birds that lived nowhere else on earth. The plants there, without enemies they evolved without thorns or poisons. Without predators and enemies, these islands, they were paradise. The sailors, the next time they visited these islands, the only things still there would be herds of goats or pigs. Does this remind you of anything? Maybe the ol' Adam and Eve story? You ever wonder when God's coming back with a lot of barbecue sauce?" Chuck Palahniuk

hummm never mind.
People do have a lot of stuff stored in their shadows which they refuse to get rid of... a lo tof baggage.
on/off psychic powers would be a blessing. constant psychic sensitivity should not be something strived for unless you are an enlightened being completely free from suffering and any reality games. in which case i think you could probably turn it on/off too if you wanted.

if you think I am an ego-maniac, you have misunderstood me.
I come on these boards to raise rabble. Sometimes, its the only way to get people to think. The best teachers I have ever had in life have pissed me off and kicked my ass. At the time, I hated them for doing so, but these days I look back on them and smile fondly, for in mistreating me they have given me much wisdom.
I try to be the same to people I meet as my greatest teachers have been to me. But I am no egomaniac. I'm sincerely trying to help. You know, I really don't have to be here right now. I could be in a much better place. I came down to the third dimension just to help others up, even though I find the density of this fractured existence to be quite painful at times.
Also, as a receptive, I have no choice but to absorb other people's negative energy. I'm like a dishwasher. I am a good, clean person surrounded by evil and filth. Don't mistake me with my crowd. I hang out with assholes because they need me the most.
However, recently I have been absorbing a lot of positive energy from a new girl I'm seeing. Hopefully, I'll be able to put this energy to good use, and maybe not come off as such an asshole. Because I'm really not.
This girl was giving my a massage and found that my back was all knotted up. She asked me why I was so tense, and I said: "Its because the people close to me can be very destructive, and I have no choice but to bear their burdens, for in truth we are all connected."

yeah my job is the same doctorj, after a while the negativity has ceased to bother me, in fact i learned to love it. I learned to see in it the beauty it has. Really you jusst gotta laugh and give in to the chaos. Pain also can be beautiful and fascinating, but its all about attitude. Here is the kicker though, because i learned to love these things i know their weaknesses too, and i know how to defeat them easily.
