Computer/Router Networking Help

Alright I'm good at computers and stuff so whatever you guys can explain to me I'll understand.

Ive given this a try myself but just by messing around and looking at options and stuff.

So my problem is I have a Linksys 4 port router. My printer is hooked up to the computer I'm using right now. My sister wants to be able to print something from her computer (which is also linked to the router) straight to my printer. I know its possible cause I have a friend with the same setup as me. Any of you guys know how to do this?

what operating system are you & your sis running?

are you & your sis' computer on the same 'network'? (ie: MSHOME)

if not (& if running win xp,)
go to /start button > my network places.
look for a gray box on the left.
click "set up a home or small office network"

follow instructions.
you may need to do this on both computers.

if you are both on the same network,
you just need to enable "file & printer sharing"

im runnin xp professional, my sister is running xp professional too,

im gonna try to do what you just told me. were only under Local Area Network, no name or anything

alright looks like it cant be done without a floppy disk, i need to get a floppy and i dont have the driver for my A drive so im gonna have to get that too

It helps to be in the same workgroup, though it's not required. If in the same workgroup, WinXP should auto-install any shared printers.

OK

Go to the computer with printer

Control Panel>Printers and Faxes - Right click printer you want shared>Sharing - Then tell it to share

Then to add printer, go to the computer WITHOUT THE FUCKER

Control Panel>Printers and Faxes - Right click anywhere in the folder>Add Printer>A Network printer, or a printer attached to another computer>Browse>SELECT THAT SHIT, y0
