nice finds inski, and those bottom unidentifieds look pretty damn intruiging!! i'v heard tell of a new strain likened to a cross between a sub and a blue meanie but would consider this as rumour only at this stage hehe
tried those weraroas again and didn't get much of a head trip..all emotion and body.. like being Really body stoned.. took its time to wear off too.. had what felt like a hangover the next day.. no headache, just braindead .. must add that i didn't feel any nausea or other nasty symptoms..

If the pictures in the previous post you posted were of cystidia of the above mushroom then Im quite sure they are subaeruginosa as they are quite lageniform.

Many shrooms have cystidia which are quite lageniform. This doesn't make them all subaeruginosa.
Inski, you've got a new species. Congrats.

The unidentified mushrooms look similar to the Weraroa... They may be unrelated, but the bulbous cap that just barely pulls away from the stipe, the caps of both the Wearoa and the unidentified species look nearly viscid, and the short and mishapen stipe of each, make me consider the physical similarities.
Nice finds!! I'm always so damned jealous of the NZ hunters, and the species you guys come back with... And your photography skills and microscopes!

On the 2nd Picture you can see dried black veil remnants like a psathyrella. Pretty interesting finds.

The cystidia forms found in subaeruginosa arent all lageniform - and you are right that quite a number of mushrooms have lageniform or sublageniform cystidia. What i meant was that the picture of the cystidia was a distinct shape that I have seen myself from specimens of subaeruginosa. Since the mushroom at the top of the pictures macroscopically resembles subaeruginosa and has a cystidia shape that I have seen that is distinct to subaeruginosa when compared to other Psilcybes found in New Zealand and Australia (Aucklandii which DOESNT have lageniform cystidia, semilanceata and makarorae which again have quite different sized and shaped cystidia to subaeruginosa's usually lageniform or lechyniform cystidia) it is pretty clear that the mushroom in question is most likely subaeruginosa.

BM Thanks for reveiwing your position after reveiwing microcharacteristics of the mushroom in question as you mention in Inski's other thread and are now supporting the position that this is indeed a new species of ??? Cheers

Im confused. I thought he posted some pics a while ago of cystidia from a different mushroom to the new species with forked cystidia? I know one of the two looked like subaeruginosa and the other one - the one he wrote a large thread about is either a new species or a species from somewhere else never described before in NZ. I think thats right??
