Can you describe them a little more? Where exactly do they occur? What state changes do you notice?
I've had similar experiences, and I don't think they've been harmful.

I've almost certainly felt the same thing. I've had them for a few months, perhaps a year, and I don't think they've harmed me.
I've felt the pressure, the cognitive changes, all of it, although I can't say I have split personalities.
I can't say whether they're good or bad, I don't know anything about them except for the little that I've experienced. You're not alone, though.

I think I know what you mean. I've had this cracks.. or kinda like bubbles? ever since I can remember. I don't think it is anything serious... I can't say that whenever I've felt them I've undergone some personality change or whatnot.
The last time I strongly felt them was when I first did acid. Hah.. in the mindset I was in I thought my brain was dissolving. Boy was I tripping hard

Those crackles are normal for the most perceptive individuals when it comes to LSD, ayahuasca or mushrooms.
Thats one VERY strange effect though.
Those sounds are heard by many and when tripping they can develope into an ultra-complex sound that can envelope you. It is a somewhat normal effect. Most of the people I have talked to about it have not experienced it and think that I somehow create that sound. In reality that subject delves far into the experiences that are most amazing. For me(if we are talking about the same thing that at times seems to originate from the so called "smart bone"), it is very natural, and can be very interesting.
When I try to, I can hear those sounds constantly when sober. When I am tripping they possess me. At first they were illusive and did not hold true on their own unless a "real sound" activated them or reverberated with them. Thats the core of what most people consider to be audio visuals.
In time they became a sort of entity made of math/sounds. They serve a function I believe, but that is one hell of a complex subject.

i get them in the front of my throat ever since i was very young and they don't seem to have anything at all to do with drugs.
i also get them in my head.
and physically in my neck because it seems to be out of alignment.
i think it's because energy is blocked and can't flow properly to some places.

It has to do with tension in your muscles. I get the same thing because I work out all the time and I've done some stuff in teh past that messed with my spine.
Basically, it is an understandable occurence because your spine, just like every other bone you have, cracks. The spine is very important, though, so this cracking can really effect your electrical pathways. In that regard, it's really not a good thing for this to be happening, but we are not perfect and we do what we have to to survive.
The solution is posture. Good posture means you have a flexible, easy going tension that will not build up more than necessary in any given part of your body. It's really a lifestyle to consider your physical alignment. You just have to use your common sense and decide what is the best way to go about fixing this problem. Exercise will help. Certain exercise like intense movements (chinups, for example) can create a great tension in your jaw area, for example. Pushups do the same thing to your chest. So just realize, there is a price to pay for some workouts. But in general, they will be a positive thing. You just have to realize hwo to relax, through stretching, cardio, meditation, or anything else that can help properly channel your energies (a good conversation irl does wonders).
This might make you feel better. My spine cracks in about 8 different places with consistant problems in 3 of those spots. Atleast you don't have it as bad as me. =D

Yeah the crackling bubbles in the thing.. Had it for years, I don't know why it should mean anything special. All I know is that it makes me feel better, lets say refreshed.
Nice to see someone brought it up.
