Case running

I have been doing my caseings in rubbermaid trays, and taping the bottoms and sides with electrical tape. Instead of using tin foil, to cover them during incubation, (due to the fact I was too lazy to go to the store and get more), I just used the rubbermaid container tops. Unfortuently they are close to airtight.

I cased yesterday, and today I checked them, to see how things were going. They had a kinda stinky/sweet smell, not usual to my other casings. I came upon the notion that the semi-airtight contianer was not good, and poked some holes.

Now heres my question, if they were like that for about 24 hours in incubation, could they have gone bad? They smelled funky. Im using coir. Ehhgg If thse go to shit im gonna be pissed!

That sweet, bad smell is contamination. You may want to separate it from any other growing your doing and watch it close for a few days, but it does sound like its contaminated. bluhoney

Hmm ! Crap. :/

Well I just checked them today again, gave them some air...no contamination yet. :/

What about using some h2o2 water on it? No growth of mycelium yet...
