MDMA - spiritual ?

some people believe that MDMA opens a direct link with God, others consider it just another drug. what do you think?

personally i think using it correctly can aid to put your mind in a state where you can have more clarity on thinking - discussing with yourself - spiritual stuff, although sometimes i get the feeling it can be tricky.

at times, during the peak, thoughts pop into my mind, that i haven't consiously *produced* them. they seem to be somehow "transmitted" to me. if i was to believe what i have been "told" during these times, i would probably also believe in one God (i am not saying that i do or i don't), but how can one know who the transmitter is?

anyway, overall, i think that the substance, has some lessons to teach (for some people), but these can be easily neglected-forgotten

any thoughts - opinions - experiences?

I think most people treat MDMA too frivolously, like its some kind of party drug. I have found it to be one of the most profound drugs out there. After all, it opens you up to love; unconditional, overwhelming love for all people and things. That's what acid was supposedly about back in the day, but MDMA is even more direct and predictable than that was. I've never spoken to God or anything, but I've definately got as much out of my rolls as I have out of my trips. It definately opens something up in your mind, but its something more basic than what psychedelics usually do. Definately just as significant, but subtler.

I dont think I have given it a fair chance... which says a lot.. I think it is reguarded so thouroughly as a party drug (at least amongst my aquiantences) that I never even considered taking it in a non party atmosphere or in any sense with self-reflective context. I will have to give it a try... I imagine that Candyflipping procures a highly medative state... Hmmm... I'll get back to u.

Try a very low dose and meditation... something like 1/4 of a tablet (~25mg?). If you are used to rolling, then you won't even feel a dose this low, but coupled with meditation it is _amazing_ how it opens and focuses your mind.

The problem with high doses is that it feels so damn good that it is difficult to distinguish the spiritual effects (if any) from the drug effects.

As to your question, I do not believe that any drug opens a direct link to "" (I use "" instead of God, it is a bit more abstract)... the link is already there and already open... it is our minds that are closed with our self-image acting as a lock. MDMA is a very good mind opener.

it's good to know people think this way about this substance, as i consider it to be very significant too. i think that it has been misused as just a party drug. it seems to me that it really has the potential to help you realize certain things (e.g. the nature of good and evil - for me at least), but also to be abused as a mood lifter far easier than any psychedelic

I seem to recall a study a few years back where therapists used MDMA to help troubled couples rekindle their fire.

As with any drug, I believe it depends on how you use it, your expectations going into it.
It can be used as a spiritual tool, or as a party drug just to get fucked up on.

From what I have read, the drug (MDMA) was one of the first designer drugs made. It was created to help people that were in therapy empathize with whatever their issues were and open up to the therapist.

I use it once a year or less, and everytime I use it I am reminded about how great life is, and it teaches me to look for the good in things. About 2 years ago I use to use it quite often (a couple times a month) and never had such positive experiences with it. It seems I am more in touch with myself, my surroundings, and everything else when i use it now. I will never go back to using it more than once a year, because even if I rolled every weekend for a year, the experiences would not be as spiritual or beautiful as they are now.

i would have to agree with MDMA having spiritual use. i candyflipped last summer with my boyfriend, and it was the best experience of my life. we sat under the stars and talked about everything and anything.

i think it is definitely useful to reconnect with someone. i consider it great fun, but also a tool. it's kind of sad that it's getting so much bad publicity lately from raves and silly kids abusing it.

ive done it off and on for a coupla years, i dont think ill ever do it again. its fun while it lasts, and you do become closer to people, ive done it in the party scene and with close friends in the home. the only thing close thing to spirtuality i got with that substance, is stuck looking at my comp screen, listening to dark jungle and some drum and bass, and catching glimpses of hell and the devil. that scared me to the point of not wanting to do it anymore, and i am an experienced user. going out, watching people on this drug kinda makes you think twice about is this something i ever want to do again? and im talking in the party sense, ive seen people make real fools out of themselves, and its hard to hold an intelligent conversation with someone when they are peaking, unless youre on it too, so closer to god? i dont think so, maybe its just all that sertonin in your brain blowing up. and the next day sucks! some people for the next week, and others i know the whole month. and i definetely dont see them praising god or thanking him for such a wonderful experience.

I have to agree. I used MDMA before I did shrooms, so I kinda mistook it for a party drug. Even though I never went out and partied, I just stayed at home with two close friends. It definately makes you more open to love, but i never had anything as close to spiritual as shrooms. Maybe it would be different now considering my mindstate! I doubt I'll ever do it again though because I simply don't need it anymore. Sorry for the ramble!

E is more known as a strong empathy drug. it's potential depends on the individual. Since I am instrinsically spiritual already, I have little difficulty in feeling the 'nirvanic' effect of MDMA. I could be on the same pill and same dosage as the next person -- except that person won't be on the same level as me.

I stopped along time ago with MDMA. There are other safer types as a good tool. One of them is MJ, I will be growing and taking care of it. It'll be like Zen ~~ communion with the gifts of Satori..

I definitely believe in the spiritual benefits of MDMA. I rarely ever take E and never mushrooms, just to "trip". I take them in search of wisdom and knowledge. I feel these drugs act as catalysts to open me up to another place. It is amazing how similatr these two drugs are to me! They both do the same thing to me on a spiritual level. The main difference with me is the E experience is much more empathetic. I can tell when either is coming on when I begin to yawn! I honestly feel that this yawning does something. Maybe I am sucking in life! Does anyone know what i mean with my next statement: have you ever turned your yawn into a rhythmic breath? I have been trying to attain these levels of awareness and connection through meditation, but I am not yet able to do so. That day, I'm sure, will come...

I don't have so much as spiritual and revelations on ecstacy as the unbelievable euphoria of the drug. It's like this for me - I spilled cranberry juice all over me, but thats all good. Damn, that feels good. Oh, I guess I gotta drink it before mom finds out. (I know that sounded silly)

Too many people use MDMA for the touchy feely stuff. Me being the seeker I am, I like the world to be perfect for 4 hours and the whole next day.

Can drug, and every moment for that matter, can be spiritual if you want it to be. I've found MDMA to be very spiritual, but that's because I want it to be.

Ive only done MDMA once, so i cannot base a great opinion on it, but this is what ill say. I found it to be relaxing, i could talk to everyone about anything, and they understood, i was at peace. I felt clean, pure, the best. Then when it really set into deep 'melting' i was in heaven. It wasnt much of a mental high, except for the clean thought, and happiness, but the body high was unbelievable. Before i did it i did not know what people were going through. I used to think of the word 'ecstacy' as a pill, a drug, now its a being, its simply ecstacy. I didnt use it to much spiritual advantages, just to get my groove on, but it was surely an experiance none the less, i understand how much joy there is, and it just helped in a hidden way.. those are my $0.02

I think that anything you put in your body to try and better yourself as a person is very spiritual, and should be treated as so. I plead no contest that shrooms have a much more magical aura that seems to surround them, but all te same, X can change perspectives and thought patterns, and so I will regard it as much more than just a "party drug".

And in response to those who say that not all X users put it in to better themselves: too bad, their loss.
