emergency room visit and long term effects

two and a half years ago I went to the ER because of a bad trip on shrooms. Since then I've felt sort of dissasociated from reality on a minor level. is there any way this feeling will "wear off"? Or is there something I have to do to bring things back to normal. What are the long term effect of shrooms?

you will be fine. Just go about your daily activities, and the feeling will wear off. perhaps try some herbs. Ginseng is a favorite of mine. St johns wort is also good.

It's possible pot might make it worse.

Why did you go to the ER for shrooms?

I'm curious as to why you went to the ER.... I've had really bad trips and just experienced one that the effects haven't worn off from yet (its been 9 days).... My experience is that you probably have some "belief" about yourself that is negative and the shrooms pulled that belief from the unconscious into the conscious mind and gave it the "spot-lighted center stage".... With me I brought back self esteem issues I got as a little kid because I was physically and verbally abused.... Consciously I got over them to live my life but at a really deep level some self doubt still exists.... hence my recent "bad" trips.... What works for me is---acknowledge the "bad" or unpleasant feelings and try to figure out where they come from/what caused them to be there in the first place. Then shift your focus away from them to positive thoughts that overtake and eventually replace them. Hang in there...it can be rough at first and you may even start to feel worse for a while.... When doing this I will sometimes feel anxious, depressed, and even suicidal... What I realized was that those feelings and beliefs were inside of me all the time---24-7---and that the shrooms brought them to light. I was unaware I thought those things and suddenly came face to face with them.

My last trip about a week ago on LSD was extremely disturbing (snuff hallucinations) and I was depressed for about 5 days afterwards trying to figure out what happened. Eventually I just shrugged it off. Happy tripping.
