Long Term effects from a single use

I have searched online, and these forums but i can't get any concreate information of what are the permanment effects of even a single use of shrooms. I've read from maps.org that one effect is that your brain creates "odd" connections which cause greater creativity but less "sharpness." However, it doesn't say on the site if that lasts forever or wears off. Beyond that, i really havn't found that much info, any links to FAQs or sites that i missed would be great.

Maybe thats why there are no long term or permanent side effects to one time mushroom consumption....food for thought.

I read that thing on maps, and I believe that it is not about permanent effects, just when the person is high on mushrooms.

Do any of you have a link or something to a study done on psilocybin and if it causes damage? I'm trying to prove to my dumbass friend that it isn't harmful and i need some proof or something.

proving something dosen't exsist is harder then proving it does.

You can get long term effects from a single use, although quite uncommon. Check out http://www.erowid.org/psychoactives/health/hppd.
Also, psychoactives can trigger mental disorders (e.g. schizophrenia) which may otherwise not surface (or not as early). So depending on the individual and their families history, there are in fact a couple of things to be aware of...
