Sooo.... maybe I'm just being impatient and am worrying too much because I'm new at this and know not what to expect. It's going on 4 days now since I injected my cakes and put them into my incubation chamber. Well I don't see anything.... they look the same as they did before inoculation. My incubation chamber thermometer reads 86 degrees, but maybe it's over that and I just don't know it. Can it actually be TOO hot? And is there a way to screw up cakes bad enough that NOTHING would happen? LoL thanks for putting up with my questions and giving me all the wonderful help everyone's offering.

Your jars are fine. It takes 2-3 days to even begin germination. Your temps are a tad high, drop it about 3 degree's. Dont worry, they are still alive =)

thanks for your advice.... once again!! i'mma lower the temp a bit. Also the water in the incubation chamber has a VERY small amount of bleech to prevent algea from growing (as recomended by a much more experienced shroomer than myself). The chamber is very humid and I do notice a few drops of water on my jars and around the little holes in the top. Is this a problem?

If water can get into your jars (I assume you're using the loose/tight lid method to get air exchange) and it's humid in there, then yes, it could pose a problem. But the bigger problem is why do you have a humid Incubator (TiT I again assume)? There shouldn't be water in your incubator besides the water in your jars (not enough water would come out of the jars to be the cause, and if it was, you'd really need to tighten them). Adding chlorine to the water is a good idea (I do it myself), but the water you're adding it to isn't in the same tub as your jars. If you could elaborate some more I'm sure we'd be able to get this all straightened out.
EDIT: I just re-read your post and I'm wondering if you taped your inoculation holes after inocluating. Still seems like a far fetched explaination though. And stelthvue's right, the hotter the incubator the faster the jars will colonize, to a point. 86 is cutting it close to being too hot if you aren't sure of yourself. Dropping it down to 83 should keep them colonizing fine and it'll be one less variable that you could mess up. You can't keep them that hot, but it's fine if they've been that hot at some point (so don't think you cooked them to death ).
