Question about casing.
    #536239 - 01/30/02 06:30 PM (22 years, 2 months ago)

Ok, so my friend is almost ready to case his 10 (1/2 pt.) jars. When he's making the casing, should he put in vermiculite, then crumbled substrate, then 50/50 on top, or should he put vermiculite, whole cakes (set on their curved sides), then 50/50?

Thanks (he says to those who reply).

check out that entry by Anno.

BTW,... Try using coco coir.. IMO its better. Its just straight coco on top and bottom with the crubled substrate in the middle. Crumbled means like 1-2 inch chunks, i believe...

Would slicing the cakes work better than crumbling?
