Eating Right

From this point on, I'm gonna eat healthy, lets see how long is last time. I always tell myself, "Alright, todays the day, stop eating shit" and then I end up doing it, I've always been told that if I write down my goals and tell people them, then I will be more likely to achieve them, so here it is, healthy eating, time to start... now.

I just started it man... It took my body two weeks to get used to eating lots of salads and veggies. I practically cut out beef completely, and whenever I eat beef, I feel sick sometimes afterwords..
I eat TONS of fruits, mostly strawberries. And lots of mesclun lettuce, and all types of lettuce.
When I eat meats I try to eat turkey and lean chicken
My main problem is breads, I can't cut them out, I just cant, but they are a major source of gaining weight...Stick it out, Also, drink lots of water, at least 6 glasses bare minimum. Drinking lots of water is almost more important than eating healthy.

I have been eating healthy for half a year now...and it's been awesome. I feel more alive than ever. Gone are the days of feeling dehydrated, only to quench my thirst with more soda.
The problem is, I'll go from eating nothing but salad or eggs the entire week...and I'll splurge like hell for one night.
Happened a couple days ago when the munchie crept up on me. I ate an etire california burrito and a plate of carne asada fries. That's 4 pounds of food right there.
Im pissed that I let it happen, but in a way...im super proud of myself. Im skinny as hell, and NONE of my friends could eat as much as I did.
Any suggestions on how to just say, GOD DAMNNIT THATS ENOUGH FOOD. EVEN THOUGH THERES STILL SOME LEFT ON YOUR PLATE, DONT EAT IT. I've always been raised to just clear the plate...and when the plate was clear, you're done eating.

Oh I know, my moms an awesome cook, especially when it comes to baked shit, cakes, pies, all of that stuff, its all soaked in butter, but its so good. Its a gift and a curse.
To be honest, I used to weigh 330 pounds and within the last 2 years I've dropped down to 235 and its getting hard to stay on track, I just want to drop the little bit of excess left.

if you have a healthy and balanced diet, you shouldnt worry about weight gain. once you have a strond diet that works for you, everything else falls into line.

Holy moly. Congratulations
If you don't mind responding I have a question. And I'm not trying to be an ass or anything here, I'm genuinely curious. How did you let yourself get to 330? While you were working your way up did you know you were getting fat and not care? Or did you just look at yourself one day and think "what the fuck"?

You're right about the water.. drinking lots of water is very important. But where did you get that bread shit from? Bread (carbs) are the base of the food pyramid (however off it is..) and your body NEEDS carbs to produce energy. Don't listen to that bullshit atkins propaganda. Eat bread, pasta, etc.. freely. It's good for you. But go more for whole grain breads, rather than white breads, which have been denatured, and have virtually no nutritional content compared to their whole grain brothers.
Bread doesn't make you fat. Eating loads of saturated fats, hydrogenated oils, processed foods, etc.. and not exercising makes you fat. Bread does not make you fat. Ask any professional athlete what they eat the most of.. the answer you will get is... TONS of pasta, lots of raw vegetables, fruits, nuts, fish and lean meat.
That's another point. Fats are another thing your body NEEDS to produce energy. (Energy = fats, carbs, protein) But the good kind of fats (polyunsaturated and monounsaturated).. like the kind found in nuts, seeds, legumes, fish, avocados, olive oil, etc. The fats you want to avoid are saturated and trans fats.

Well when I was young, for almost 5 years I had "Severs Disease" which is basically where my body grew too fast for my tendons. I was a huge kid, both weight and height wise, but growing so fast made me develop the disorder, and basically, walking more than like 100 meters would be put in horrible pain, and running was pretty much out of the question, but eventually I grew out of it, and I got more physically active, and dropped down to 280 just moving myself around for a year, and then last year I put myself on a 1500 calorie diet for about 6 months and dropped about another 45. I'm still a chubby guy at 235, but now that I kicked the pot, I'm trying to work on myself.

Yeah I've been trying to eat like a lean bastard and it's tough. Cut out candy, cut out white bread and all sorts of junk. Haven't had a pop or bag of chips forever. No chocolate bars, etc... it's tough.
I eat really lean from the moment I wake up, until I go to bed. Shoot for 6 meals with around 30g of protein and whatever amount of carbs/calories to keep you okie dokie. My goal's to stay anabolic and never slip into a state of catabolism. That's why I keep a can of tuna, protein bar and power in my backpack at all times. Not eating is huge when it comes to adding weight. Keep a proper eating routine and your body will love you for it.
Don't forget to have a multivitam and get things like omega fatty acids and fiber. I take flaxseed oil and fish oil twice a day. I also try to get lignans and efas through real food, as nothing can beat the biological value of real, properly prepared food.
Kudos on losing all the weight, man! I hardly weight half of that. My goals to actually surpass 160lbs and just stay incredibly lean without actually "cutting" or trying to lose weight. Stay consistent and set up a cheat day once a week. I fucking blaze hard and mow food one day on the weekend.

where did you hear that bread shit? that is absolutely false
However make sure if you're eating bread its the natural bread, and that its wheat bread. The white bread is gonna make your blood sugar pop seeing how its a simple carb. Your body will like the wheat bread very much. Make sure to absolutely avoid Any bread with high fructose corn syrup as an additive (at any general grocery store about 90% of the bread has it) its a frankenfood artifical sweetner and your body turns it straight into trash as soon as it gets in your system. Beware the "natural" labels on the bread as well...food companies try to pass HFCS as natural. Something thats created in a lab and is being blamed for the huge spike in diabetes in the united states is far from natural...
make sure to eat those omega 3's (flax seed, salmon, halibut) your body cant synthesize it by itself and they are absolutely necessary!
Just remember its the quality and not the quantity. Just because something is high in fat or high in carbs does not mean its bad. Nuts are super high in fat, but they are quality fats. Spagetti is soaked in carbs yet they are complex and give you great energy

Well what do you mean by "eating shit" Mcdonalds? Frozen dinners? What? You probably wont do it all at once, but if you really want to youre going to stop soon. Start the next meal right. Youll eat right for a while, then youll regress a little by eating something crappy like a frozen pizza or something. Then youll be dissapointed in yourself and youll say Im not gonna eat taht anymore. And youll eat more and more GOOD food. Then you might eat something crappy, but if you really want to eat good, then the crap food will be eliminated from your diet. Try to get a book with simple, healthy recipes
