Liquid Mycellial Culture Question :-)
    #529984 - 01/24/02 09:16 AM (22 years, 2 months ago)

Will a jar innoculated with a tissue culture liquid colonize faster than one done with simply a Mycellial Honey Water? Please assume of course that all other things are equal.

A mycellium liquid culture will start to colonize a substrate immediately after inoculation. A liquid tissue culture is in a sterile solution to prevent mycellial growth, it will require an extra day for colonizing to begin. Depending on the strain, some liquid tissue cultures could start to form mycellium within hours.

Sorry... you'll have to make your own liquid cultures.

I knew this dude that said it used to work like a charm with his Cambodians. Was he exagerating? Of course he was reffering to the Tissue Culture method.

He wasn't exagerating. Mycellium liquid cultures colonize quickly, overcoming contams. By using a tissue culture you get the added benifits of more uniform flushes and fruits due to the cloning.
You can also make a mycellium culture using your tissue culture.

Excellent results!

Yes, but not a Liquid TISSUE culture.

We were just differentiating between liquid cultures produced from spores and those from tissue.
