The Best source for info on the liquid mycelium culture teks is in Paul Stamets book "The Mushroom Cultivator" Liquid is definalty faster than jars, Im new and will be using agar as my next attemp but right now Im useing jars and wish I had just used the petri dishes and gone about the liquid path. About the Oven bag tek, dont waste your time with it, I tried it, and it went bad. Moe Howard a very respected moderator has tried it many many times with no sucess. Now it is possible to innoculate a Spawn Bag using the liquid Mycelium tek. Its too long to explain in a post but its in the book I mentioned earlier. But here is my bulk tek

Take a colonized MMGG/PF jar and crumble it to bb sized pieces add as much of the crumbled mycelium cake as you want into a spawn bag fill that spawn bag with sterile substrate seal, shake around to get the mycelium disributed and wait for colonization.....as for how long that will take. DOnt know this is my fist attempt at this bulk tek. I will post results when I have them in about 2-3 weeks though. to speed up your colonization of your jars try adding them to a container filled with water just enough so the water is about half way up the jars add a heating pad to the bottom of the container add towels to adjust the heat and that will help you want about 80-85F. Also if you havent, take the tape off! it only slows down the growth.

Hope that helped

If your new, and frustrated by failure, bulk is not the answer to your problems. Straight PF or MMGG is. The best way to speed colonization is heavy spore innoculation and proper incubation at around 82 degrees F.
Oven bags can be used succesfuly, but the official tek isn't the way to use them. Once you have some experience, improvise the tek a little.

PM me with any cultivation questions.

I just looked at my profile and realized I had a website at one point in time on geocities, it's not there anymore and I have no idea what I had on it. Anybody remember my website from several years aga? PM if so please.

Hey PanTrop, what about contaminization? How sterile was your environment where you added the mycelium to the substrate?

Please keep me informed. I hate doing so many jars and am messing with autoclave bags. So far I've melted one and made another bag of goop.

Am going to regress to brf/verm for the next attempt.

BuffaloTrance,

I have not actual done the Bulk tek I spoke of its my own version of a bulk tek....This will be my first time actually doing this....But, my sterile conditions will be the same as when I carried out my inoculations.....Work in a dentists office  use an oven to help help keep contams away and the basice inoculation sterilzation will also be done.....with exposed mycelium and no Laminar flow hood I dont want to lose a bag or bags due to contams  who knows if my version of a bulk tek works maybe it will replace Hips Bulk Tek  Could Happen......
