Problems with inoculation of the spawn jars

I am attempting to use the bulk substrate method to inoculate my jars as shown in the MMGG and I am running into some problems. I have had the jars sitting for about 6 days and I have shown very little growth of mycelium at the bottom of the jars. I have realized that I have had them in a not very warm location. How will this effect the growth of the substrate and will growth start picking up once i get the jars in a warmer temp? I bought a heating pad to put them on hoping this would help. I used a fresh mushroom opposed to a print hoping this would speed up the process. Any ideas on this? Anything else I should remember to be doing at this point in the process? Thanks

hey, i'm a first-timer, but i have a heating method that's working out good. i don't know what your situation is, but my room's uninsulated so i run a space heater aimed at the terrarium, 3 feet away, and i hang wet towels on a rack to put back the miosture into the air. i have a thermometer inside my terrarium so i know that i'm not over-heating the babies, and i have been able to keep it between 82-85 degrees. hope this helps!

how did you use a fresh mushroom? you might have sterilization problems. As for the heat on the jars, it can help. heating pads/ space heaters work well

Yup temp was the problem. I have a heating pad now and I see a dramatic change in growth. I took a fresh mushroom and put it through a food processor with some water and made it into a slurry. I then put 5cc of this white substance into each jar with a syringe. This is supposed to speed up the colonization process compared to using a sprore print.
