If in fact a pig goes into your room and sees you are growing shrooms... Im sure 99% of cops do not know the difference between legal and edible shrooms... If you simply say they are edible ones... what right do they have not to believe you.... what would give them the right to take it as evidence, arrest you, etc..

In the future, I plan on doing growing in other peoples homes (friends). I am curious tho, if I transport spawned jars in my car and I get caught with them, what can happen... what should I say? I could just say they are edibles and they will have no evidence or reason to take me in.....

what do you guys think
im interested in some feedback

Also, is there a solution that cops have that they can drop on spawn or shrooms that indicate they have psilocybe content?

I know there are solutions of this kind for crack/cocaine/pot ect...
is there 1 for shrooms?

Cops, from what I've heard, usually send the products to a lab to be tested for psilocybin content. Though around here we hear about big and small busts all the time, for the individual crime lab, you probably won't come across it often enough.

I'm not sure what "right" you have to tell the cops that it is something else. and I don't know what right they have to seize the entire thing, if they can't identify a single characteristic that suggests its illegal. But they will probably take the whole thing until it clears with the lab. And if they just take a sample, and you lied about it being normal edibles, you'll be in some shit anyway.

Also, why put your friend's house at risk above your own?

I would say that there's a few different situations here . . . .

If a cop come to your door and said "we where chasing a suspect through the woods and we have reason to believe he's hiding in your house." Then they would come in, see the mushrooms and you would say "they're edibles" and they probally wouldn't think twice about it. (If you're house didn't smell like pot and you don't look like a stoner). They would see that your not hiding out the suspect and they would leave.

If little Johnny down the street says "he's growing magic mushrooms and I've seen them" then the cops are definately going to take the mushrooms and arrest you. You might have to sit in jail while they wait for the lab results.

If they got called to your house for some reason like you're having a party and somebody reported a noise violation. . . If they came in a saw the mushrooms, you're probally screwed.

Your best bet when a cop is outside of the door is open the door, go outside with them and pull the door shut behind you. This eliminates the "I think I smell weed in there" and removes a lot of there probabal cause to enter your home.

As fugazzi said step outside the house. once a cop enters a house they can do prertty much whatever they want. never let a cop in unless they have a warrant, then again if they have reasonable cause ( bullshit ) you are fucked !
best bet as always is whatever shit that you don't wan't any one to see - mom - cops - neighbors, put it in a locked bedroom basement etc... - definitely not in public view - i.e. - open the door and here it is - that's just stupid. always deny police access unless they have a warrant, and ask to see it.
if they say reasonable cause make sure you know what that is. they can't search through your drawers if the are looking for a burgalry suspect.

Police are just people, man.  I don't understand why they'd ship a colonized jar (mycelium is all white, regardless of the species, as far as I know!)  off to some "lab" to test for psilocybin content.  If you had a fruitbody, that might be more incriminating.  But, fuck!

Don't sell shit, stay quiet, and enjoy a wonder of evolution--regardless of the species. 

Police have far more trouble with meth-heads and drunks on foot or driving.  Be respectful of your neighbors, keep yourself to yourself, and there shouldn't be any problem. 


It's like that Lebowski quote ~ "Leads?  Yeah, we got some leads.  They just put three more detectives on the case.  They got us working in shifts!"  Or, not a verbatim quote, but, you get the drift. 

Don't make shit worth their time, keep yourself together (don't peddle shit), and be a good citizen.

no offense but never under estimate a cops desire to be a prick and try and fuck you ! a suspicious jar of white shit in the closet doesn't cost them a penney to send to the lab !!!! hey they're already there so what the fuck. - hide all your shit !!!! fuck ! a bong will get you serious jail time in a lot of states -
be aware and be carefull, a jar of myc could cost you a lot of years in jail - don't take it lightly. if they get the chance they will hammer you - a hobby gone bad could really fuck up your life. - carefull- carefull - carefull .

just keep quite, dont go around selling stuff to people you dont even know (or anyone for that note), and please please read into your rights man.

AFOAF grows mushrooms, the best thing is that he does not grow them in his house.  he grows them in his other friends house, his other friend does not mind.  of course, his other friends get free shroomies, and some cash for the storage and babysitting of all the mushrooms. I think its well worth the money spent.  Because if a cop ever knocks on my friends door and has to come in.  there will NEVER be no evidence of cultivation :wink:

People are the primary users of the postal system. Seriously, what are you saying? Their intent is to bust you, they send samples to "labs". These "labs" are not theoretical. Read the microgram issues over on the DEA's site. In this subforum there have been people who were busted, in one case with a legal grow op. They waited for their results to come back. Sometimes it was quick, sometimes months.

Do all cops feel the need to send colonizing jars for analysis? No, some do. If they want to get you, and don't have fruit, why wouldn't they? If no cop ever cared about a jar, we could successfully retire the cubensis species and stick with mexicana... and all our troubles would be over.

I have a friend in the US that used to grow edible mushrooms for the local resturants. Somehow a cop heard that the guy "grows mushrooms" and was able to get a search warrant. They busted into his house and destroyed his entire 100% legal grow operation, carting it off to the crime lab. They also arrested him and held him for the weekend without bail until a judge could see him on Monday. His name was in the paper along with a story about how he was arrested for growing illegal mushrooms, etc. After spending over a thousand dollars on an attorney, spending the weekend in jail, loosing several thousand dollars worth of inventory, loosing several thousand dollars worth of spore prints, the charges were all dropped... nothing illegal was found. He did get a nice written apology from the chief of police. (The guy really was 100% legal, and didn't even have spores for illegal mushrooms.)

Moral of the story... cops don't care about being able to tell the difference or not... they arrest first and let the courts sort it out. If you get screwed over and loose a lot of money, oh well...

Yeah, any law students about who can go into better detail with cases like this... on just how much these people can/should have the fuck sued out of them?

Sometimes people "don't want anymore trouble" but in a case like that... how could you not?

If they don't have a warrant don't let them in and don't tell them ANYTHING. Say they can't come in because you're busy and you actually ned to go. Remember, if they come to your door and ask if they can come in. It means they didn't get a warrant and they're trying to scare info permission out of you. If they have a warrant they can take anything they want to really. As long as they can come up with a BS reason of why they thought it was supsicious. So basically if the cop has a search warrant and knows anything about amateur growing, you're screwed if you have any mycelium or shrooms. They will probably get you somehow if they find growing equipment but you can't prove you grow legals.

My friend just got cauget with a bunch of jars and some casings that werent cased yet and had like 3 weeks til fruit. They let us wald but do you think they could find something in it later to get us? thanks for any input.

uncased casings? jars? If any of these these contained colonizing mycelium, they can bust you for them. Was anything seized? Samples taken? Needless to say it's time to close down shop and probably a bit more.
