No, not yet. I'm starting a book which gives it context though. I don't think reading such scripture alone is very wise. It's always best when included with context.

So what's the deal with The Gospel of Thomas. I read up on it on wikipedia.

Is this suposed to be some "lost book" of the Bible or something?

The entire Nag Hammadi library is composed of "lost books". This isn't disputed by anyone.

What is disputed, however, is it's importance. Most every fundamentalist, literal Christian despises the Nag Hammadi library.

Through the Gospel of Thomas, one could even draw parallels between Buddha and Christ. It's pretty interesting.

interesting views of that apocrypha, I recomend reading all that you can find that is related, for understanding as well as the other viewpoint, there are similarities to a few of the canonized texts but some serious differences

i don't understand how i can give anyone a bad name

the simple fact is that during our evolution, one of the things that helped us survive was a sense of religious belief. Now thats all good and great and it gets people through the day. But in the end its a belief, and there is no need to be politically correct about it. There can be stupid people in this world, and i am saying that religious people are certainly stupid. Now you can take that to mean that genetically they are incapable of brainpower, or you can take it to mean they grew up in an environment without access to critical thought. Either way they are stupid. They lack critical thought. I'm no in anyway suggesting that religious teachings like loving your neighbor arn't important. What i'm suggesting is you don't need to subscribe to a religion and start reading some 2000 year old book to tell you what is morally acceptable or not.

Does anyone know why these codex are part of the New Testament apocrypha? If there has been no dispute, why wasn't it written in the Bible?

Gnosticism: New Light on the Ancient Tradition of Inner Knowing by Stephan A. Hoeller

The Gnostic Gospels by Elaine Pagels

Great starting points.

The Nag Hammadi literature is often referred to as Gnostic scripture, pertaining to the religion of Gnosticism.
