The Bible says nothing about "hating" fags.

Have you heard of sodom and gomorrah? Watch the documentary on The History channel about it. People found the town suposedly destroyed by God from "Raining fire". They found mass graves of perfectly preserved bones and concluded that the Bible proved to be accurate. An interesting documentary. :thumbup:

Lastly, the Bible says nothing about going to hell for working on the sabbath day.

KOTT, you're being just as ignorant as the Christians you bash. There are good and bad Christians, just like there are in any other part of the population.

I've met plenty of good religious people. Both the Catholic and Methodist churches are against the war in Iraq.

I have no interest in the beliefs of other people, as long as they do not qustion my beliefs. You are being the fascist you almost label the Neo-Cons as.

man stick with what you believe in. being christian does not mean you can't be yourself, and it doesn't mean you can't drink some booze and smoke some pot. like everyone else who contributed positively to this thread said, there are sects of christians who aren't total assholes and hypocrits, you just have to find the part of christianity that suits you best. and, maybe, christianity isn't really what you need. maybe you just need a spiritual awakening. look into the different major religions and see if any of those fits your needs any better.

imo its what u make it. you don't have to believe in "god" to be saved if you ask me, you just have to be satisified. find what you want and go for it.


but that said, i've had some pretty shitty christian experiences. when i was a child, the only solid thing a small town baptist church tought me was that, the southern white baptist's soul objective was to get the white man, regardless of class or moral, to heaven.... while sending the black "nigger"(yes, many times i heard this in the church, and even in the sermon) to hell, regardless of moral or class.

thats just the different extreme, though. definitely steer clear of small town redneck baptist churches, though.. lol (just kidding, but what im saying is there's good and evil, as im sure u know)

its for people are disillusioned with the world and want something magical to believe in. its the only way they get by, day to day. i think deep down they know its all a fairytale though

I believe Jesus existed, but I don't believe he was the son of God. I am not a Christian, but am a good person. I believe I'll go to heaven, if there is such a place. A kind and benevolent God would allow those who are good to go to heaven, regardless of their beliefs.
