San Pedro Extraction Tips * 1

hey, I dreamed of a few San Pedro extractions, but each time I have the dream, I always run into a few problems. I was just wondering if anyone had figured out more efficient (time/effort) ways to prepare it. One of the things that I run into is not having a big enough pot. When I dream of tripping on mescaline, I like to do it with my friends, so I tend to need to extract atleast 4 or 5 doses at a time. This ends up being a rather large amount of liquid. (BTW, I simply cut the cactus into small chunks, throw into a blender with water till its very smooth and has no chunks, then boil for 30-60 mins, filter through tshirt, save filtered water, add more water to squeezed out pulp and repeat 3 times) Do you guys just have a culdron or something? I end up using 3 big pots and it still only allows me to do about 5 pounds of cactus. Which with my cactus, is only about 3 doses maybe 4 if someone wants to trip light. It seems like the only way to solve this one is with a monterous pot.

I also have a hard time ringing the water out of the pulp with the tshirt while its still hot. What I end up doing is letting it sit in a bowl in a bowl which is in an ice bath. It cools down in about 20 mins to the point that I can squeez it without getting burned, but it would really speed things up if someone knew of a trick to ring it out with some tool or something so it would still be hot. This would not only speed up the filtering process, but the resulting filtered water would already be hot and would take less time to boil down. It would also take less time to get the 2nd and 3rd pulp mixtures up to boil if this could be done. Maybe I'm asking the impossible, but it doesn't seem unlikely that someone has come up with some good methods for this type of thing.

Also, if anyone has any other tips/pointers to add which they have found useful while doing this type of extraction, please let us know.

One last thing, has anyone tried this extraction over a fire? I would be afraid that I would burn the mescaline, or would it be fine. I think this could make the work much more enjoyable.

I don't do cactus tea anymore so I can't help you with any tea time tips, but I do know a thing or two about a thing or two.

Generally people boil the cactus for hours on end. I'm talking 6-8 hrs. It helps to break down the mucus factor and make filtering easier.

As far as sqeazing hot cactus pulp, just get some really heavy duty rubber gloves. You should be able to find some that are insulated and thick enough that you don't feel the heat at all.

Mescaline doesn't start to break down until it gets to about 300 degrees or so, so just make sure to monitor you fire accordingly and you should have no problems. It's really a stable molecule so heat isn't going to be a huge concern.

Yeah, I've read all of the extraction techs here and all of the other common places round the net, but this one looked the easiest. I will look at your tec Ekstaza, I'm not sure if I have seen it before (I read a few of the A/B extractions and figured that they were more trouble than they were worth and stopped looking at them and focused on the teas)

The bigger rubber gloves sound like a great idea, that was exactly the kind of tip I was looking for, thanks. Although if I decide to dream about a different type of extraction, it wont be necessary. I'll take a look at it.

find you a wire braid strainer used in kitchens, they have two hooks and the handle and will sit on just about any container you want.

I am looking too but I want to find something along the lines of acid first then basic cause from what I gather reading all this material is that is A most important part which is where the Cstals form. IDK yet... Still Reading.lol

Yeah making tea can be a time consuming process that's why I just eat it now. You can take much less if you eat it. You get used to the taste and its not bad. I just ate 6 inches yesterday and tripped balls for like 12 hours.

I bought a huge pot a while ago for sterilizing jars. It was a huge aluminum one and had an insert for steaming. It probably held like 8 gallons. Don't remember where I got it but I'm sure you could find something with a search.

For an A/B extraction yes you need a base, an acid, and a non polar solvent, and a polar solvent (water)
