i was working in my glovebox, in which i sprayed some bleach and lysol. I didn't dry it properly and wait long enough so as soon as I lit the torch to steralize my needle, boom! huge explosion that knocked me back and burned my left hand as well as half the hairs on it. thank god the other syringe had plastic covering otherwise it would've been fucked up. both syringes ok

Yes you would think that look at the propellants in those can's some use methane, propane, ether... stuff like that Haven't you ever heard of potatoe guns!

I drilled two holes in the bottom of my box and covered with tyvek. Spray and let sit and the fumes leak out threw the tyvek and as we all know the tyvek keeps the contams out.

Wow, your lucky man. Good to hear no serious injuries, and would have been difficult to explain to a doctor.

I never flame a needle inside a still air box.

I only flame old needles.

I flame it outside the box...then wipe it down with alcohol inside the box.


New needles...I never flame them...just wipe them with alcohol inside the box.

^^Yeah, I find it unecessary to flame a new needle, alcohol does just fine.

GeeZ man! No offence but common sence should have told you this was a bad idea. Lucky you didn't blow your face off. Now that would be hard to explain....and without lips it be even harder :wink:

i have done a very similar mistake. i sprayed my arms down with alcohol then lit the torch. after that i will never make that mistake again. 91% alcohol makes a great whoosh when atomized and ignited.
