Anatomy of a locked thread.
    #513128 - 01/07/02 01:40 PM (14 years, 10 months ago)

Recently a thread entilted 'Captains Plate' was locked. Lets take a close look at why.

The thread starts out innocently enough, a simple announcement of a 5 syringe for $40 deal. Other vendors have similiar specials, no reason why I shouldnt. In fact, the Captains Plate was something I had contemplated for sometime but I didn't release it until the same week other vendors released thier specials. Namely, ryche with a 4 for $35 deal and rolf with 4 for $40 deal.

Others thought my deal was a good deal...enter, oscill8, Ulysees, they all saw the logic in it.

But then the trolls start in starting with Maddoc, complaining because my deal is better than rolfs deal. Tuff luck, thats business. Maddoc quickly and wisely deleted his post because he didn't want to start trouble.

Same cannot be said about 'nugdumper', one of the worst trolls in the shroomery, prolly a puppet, definately not someone to trade with (he ripped me off) and a person who was already involved in a couple other threads where he was causing trouble for ryche and mcman.
So he questions how many of the Captains Plate strains are 'mine'.
Some of them of course are popular strains that other vendors carry and we get requests for them all the time so we carry them as well. Others are more-or-less exclusive to the SporeLab.

So 'nugdumper' posts a few flames directed towards myself and mcman, who somehow found his way into the thread by posting several long essays which I don't think anybody read. But no harm done by mcman...this time, other than to fuel the flames already started by nugdumper.
nugdumper realizes he can't win so bows out.

Next up is bluemeanie, whining about my exclusive Wollongong strain which I claim is the only true Australian strain currently on the market. bluemeanie insists that BIO has had one for years.

But I jsut checked. He only has the Tazmanian strain listed on his page. Tazmania is an island 200 miles off the Coast of Australia. Thats like calling something from Newfoundland as coming from New York!
He also has the Psilocybe australias, from New Zealand.

The Wollongong strain is still the only true cubensis strain hailing from the continent of Australia.

The thread was finally locked after bluemeanie wouldn't let it go.

Ther you have it folks, anatomy of a locked thread.

Conclusion: Thread was locked because of the constant flames of nugdumper and bluemeanie, both complaining with no reason other than to start trouble.

When are those new rules coming in admins?

Thanks for branding me a troll CaptainMax, I take my award with honour.

But if I was truely a troll, would I not have DELETED my post (about 2 minutes after I made it) realising I was being "trollish". For the reasons that:

1. My post was not justifiable and as such wrong.
2. I didnt check the dates between yours and Ralphs posts (you may have made your offer first, I never checked).
3. I realised that competition is healthy so long as it doesnt go to far.

Yes, my post was wrong, as such I deleted it, so your branding me a troll is ENTIRELY wrong and un-justifiable. As such, if I deleted it not wanting to cause trouble, I am obviously NOT a troll.

Quite frankly Cap'n, I bear no grudge against any of the spore vendors, but for someone with a LOT more shit floating around about themselves, they should fucking watch whom they brand a troll.

I admit my post was wrong, as such I RECTIFYED my mistake. Hopefully you will do the same with your branding of me as a "troll".

Frankly I'm no-ones dick-puppet, troll, elf, whatever, I deleted my original post to avoid getting involved with all this.

BTW cap'n, my post was not plainly complaining about your deal being better than Ralphs, maybe you to should get your facts right before you go pointing fingures and branding. My post was complaining about all this "Spore Wars" BS thats going around and how it was making me sick of the shroomery. Get it right next time....

For the record maddoc, I did mention that you wisely deleted your troll post. And also the record, you admitted the original post WAS ' trollish'.
I guess logically, by deleting the trollpost, you also delete the troll 'tag'.

You clearly brand me a troll in there (taken from the first post in this thread). If by deleting my post I deleted this troll tag, why do you then brand me a troll? Surely your post, like I first stated is wrong then.

But, why the fuck am I argueing?

Its a stupid, pointless comment made by someone who has very little respect on this board due to the constant flow of shit that follows him around wherever he may post.

Your branding me a troll makes very little difference to my life whatsoever Cap'n, well, I hope your sales techniques are better than your social ones, or your kids will be starving a lot longer.

This thread is pretty pointless. All it will do is stir up more shit (which we are already upto our necks in).
